Avoid CA Antivirus. It has very low detection rates.

Well I learned the only way to use an old Ad-Aware it to turn off automatic updates and manually install the updates daily. Due to the fact I think it will be a waste of time I guess I will be installing Windows Defender on my parents machine.

    HERE HERE!:thumb:

Way to much paranoia on this forum and a lack of education and the usage of way to much junk software!

And what's even sadder is most of these people here seem to be interested in learning, not just your average users that want to get behind the wheel and could care less and they still rely to heavy on software, instead of getting some education to understand what they are typically doing is very unnecessary.

Most people here seem to act like getting an infection or a system compromised is some big mystery and that they need to be shielded in 5 feet of lead and it's not, LOL....

I guess he successfully removed it without corrupting his MBR, that's why he's so happy.

In February yes it did,had to reinstall Windows.
But with the actual version,no.I use for more than 5 month the 2.8.155286.178 version which can be downloaded now from their website.
And yes,i uninstall it monthly without any problems, and after defrag i reinstall it.
EDIT-Actually,since the 2.6 version i didn't have any problems. The 2.5 release was the one who messed up my MBR.
