It's huge. Windows startup would take no less than 5 minutes.

They say 2011 version is way lighter. So I'm just gonna wait to try it out.

Meantime i'll stick to VIPRE. :thumb:

My laptop which is going to become a family use machine is going to be a clone with of my personal machine with minor changes.

Old Setup: Panda Cloud PRO + Malwarebytes PRO + Winpatrol PLUS

New Setup: Panda Cloud PRO + Winpatrol PLUS + ClearCloud DNS

I think I have finally found a nice base setup :D

Tried and removed a few of the secure DNS services, went back to my ISP's DNS because from some tests it seemed as secure, and it is a lot faster based on DNSBench tests.

After months of reading about and trying security software, and conversations with Wilders friends, I am just about there for my own long-term solution for a fast and just-secure-enough combination of software and settings for a 7 x64 system.

Using Bitdefender Antivirus 2011 in desktop pc ..
with Spybot S&D Resident ON, ClearCloud DNS and Windows Firewall ON

Before it was MSE + PRevx FB, Spybot S&D Resident ON, Norton DNS, WF ON took like 70 seconds to boot

Now with BD takes almost 100 seconds, but once everything loads the PC is really fast.

    How fast compared to Prevx?

I tried the 2010 version and it was sooo resource consuming.

Removed Comodo from my PC as I was having some problems with either the IS or with Time Machine. I didn't troubleshoot as I have many other options..:p
    So the problems are
    1) I couldn't backup, create restore point, defrag disk or registry.
    2) My disk and registry was abnormally fragmented.
    3) System boot up and shut down process was fairly slow.

So moved back to Vipre with MBAM at real time. No problem with Vipre this time may be it was conflicting with Kingsoft cloud last time. But its manual updater is some what buggy. Slows down the system sometime.

Yeap, that's correct. Vipre's updates may freeze the system up for like 1 or 2 mins.

Now, I admit that I never expected to see somebody using Vipre here @ Wilders. It hasn't made itself a big name in the industry yet.

Good to know im not alone... hehe.... :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :argh:
