MaxSecure has not a good reputation, if I remember well in the very past certain products were even marked as rouge by other vendors. So, watch out...

    Avira AntiVir Personal
    Comodo Firewall (Firewall, Defense+, Sandbox)

    On-demand:
    Hitman Pro

I'm currently behind a router, using OpenDNS, Firefox to browse the Internet, Secunia PSI to check my software, CCleaner to clean my machine, basically that's that! :thumb:

(OpenSUSE Live CD for banking, got this from someone here in wilders, I forget who, but thanks whoever you are!)

Cool. The reason I ask is because browsing their site for the firewall: http://www.comodo.com/home/internet-security/firewall.php I could not find the "sandbox" feature.
It is only listed for the Antivirus or the Internet Security Suite.

Using avast with prevx safe on line with outpost firewall my system has never run better. Thanks Kees for the Avast tip and also Prevx.

Prevx 3.0 with all protection components including SO. Basically the only security application needed these days.

Which is odd, since the "sandbox" feature is actually under Defense+, I'm actually using CIS4.1, without the AV

    Apologies for the confusion :D

Is this true? I would like to believe it is, but I can't find any hard evidence anywhere that it is.

Test it against any samples posted on MDL with heuristics at "max" and age/popularity set to "high".

I just use Hitman Pro in case something would ever get through and needs to be cleaned and Returnil while testing viruses against Prevx (Prevx hasn't let one of the last 132 malwares through).

132 for 132 is an impressive record, thanks for sharing that, it gives me some confidence. Seems like there would be more tests online, since Prevx is used by so many here at Wilders.

I am going to try using Prevx as my only real-time scanner, with other layers, including, like you, scanning with Hitman Pro. I wonder if it would be too late with some of the malware? Would the damage be done at that point?

bought my wife a Toshiba netbook, man it is small. Using Prevx on all 4 machines. For the netbook after trying several AVs, Prevx is the best on a netbook. Doesnt hinder the little performance there is to begin with.
