Just about to switch to the same thing after reading about tuning the HIPS to a near Default-Deny level. :)

Would have switched if a custom install was available. Really don't know why did they omit that. But thanks to this debacle, I discovered the zen like feeling of my current setup.

All Microsoft, I have it on my to-try list :) IE9 is looking good! How is MSE working for you? It was a little sluggish last I tried, a few months ago.

It can be sluggish, until you know the trick to tame it ;). Most of the complaints are with XP systems though. It plays best with Windows 7 64-bit.

i am currently trying System Shield;) and it is very powerfull registry protector

    Here's what Systemshields does...

Protects Autorun keys from being changed without your permission.
Protects Legacy Autorun Keys from having their settings changed.
Protects Service Keys from being deleted or changed.
Protects Browser Helper Object Keys so no one can take over your browser by remotely installing rogue software.
Protects IE Settings from being changed so no one can alter the way your browser operates or cause it to download files without your permission.
Protects the Host file from being edited so no one can alter the addresses of sites you visit and steal your identity.
Allows legitimate programs to make registry changes with your permission.
Displays what any program is trying to change and shows you what those changes will be if you allow them to occur.
Provides a way to create " White List" for programs that you have approved.
Logs all changes to your Registry as they occur.

I've not used it but I believe it is based on the VirusBuster engine.

I thought it was Sophos at one point.

Hmm, not sure still. I feel like a mad scientist with all these settings, one of the many things I have always loved about KAV :)

It was Sophos a few years back. But now Preventon/Digital Defender are both based on VirusBuster. I got confirmation from both Digital Defender and VirusBuster.
