I had to uninstall KIS 2011, fw rules not consistent. Replaced with:
    OP fw Pro
    Avast free (netshield,webshield not installed)

    These, runs with Prevx/safeonline, Keyscrambler,Sandboxie.

    Seems as a great shifting.

Turned hardware DEP on for all programs and services.

I scan with Hitman Pro and Malwarebytes on certain downloads. (Not always both.)

Running XP Pro SP3 under Limited User Account,
hardening system with the use of built-in windows security. (gpedit.msc)
DEP ON for all. Software Restriction Policy: ENABLED.

Comodo Time Machine - (rollback software. I have a fresh windows xp installation as baseline, a snapshot for stable LUA/SRP/GPEDIT implementation, and another snapshot for testing softwares and improved hardening.)

Hitman Pro (set to scan at startup, and a keyboard shortcut (ctrl+alt) to scan some pre-configured folders)

Welcome kerykeion :) looks like a nice setup, Google "Hitman Pro" it is an invaluable asset to one's On-Demand scanner collection.

Could you give more info on that please :) I also used gpedit.msc for SRP, do you know any more "tricks" for hardening

I'm just playing around gpedit.msc reading the description of each option then enabling and disabling options which might be useful....

you could try improving your scores in Belarc Advisor first.

Definitely running without real-time scanners on Windows XP SP3:

    Active:

Hardware firewall / NAT Router, disabled UPnP and remote administration, OpenDNS (with content filtering enabled)

running LUA (with SuRun) + SRP (default deny) + DEP + Windows Firewall

Sandboxie Free for my internet facing apps, carefully whitelisting apps allowed to run ad to access internet while sandboxed. Direct access to a single folder to make more convenient file downloading for my wife (obviously execution for that folder denied by SRP)

WOT and Adblock in my browsers (Firefox and Chrome)

    Common sense

    On demand:

Hitman Pro Free (scheduled scan at startup)
Avira Free (no Guard module, only on demand and weekly scheduled full scan)

Scheduled C:\ drive Imaging with Macrium Reflect
    Data Backup with SyncBack Free
(both imaging and backup are done on a 2nd internal hard drive and on a external disconnected one)

The (really not too) sensitive data is stored in Keepass or in files encrypted by AxCrypt

After a few years without infections and AV warnings I feel I'm pretty covered; wondering about dropping Windows Firewall too because for inbound I'm already covered by router (with my setup I feel unsolicited outbound is very unlikely).

I'm very open to your suggestions
    Thanks
