Any thoughts regarding Microsoft "Windows One Care"? for security? Also, anyone using its backup/restore in conjunction with TI and are there any advantages?

Don't get Microsoft Windows One Care, there are far better products than that around.

One thing lodore, I have never been infested by malware period. No matter what the setup. It really doesnt take much, just some common sense. Which I didnt have until coming here for security.

I would have to post every 4 or 5 hours due to my ever changing config (due to helping here).

My main config as always been,.. minimal as possible with good protection. I like a firewall (hardware and software)~(I use (software firewall)Jetico, but like various Packet filters such as CHX / Injoy), good AV (I go off you guys for AV info~ currently use NOD / Kaspersky / antivir), and a HIPS (currently playing with PS (normally use SSM(full))

Oh, yes,... due to my constant changes, I restore from image to a base install_ these installs contain various firewall/av setups(The base`s I have checked out with various programs before creation)

Careful Stem, saying that might influence someone to attack the fact that you change setups too much. :D "not pointing any figures, you know who you are" :p

I dont mind,... if a question comes up about a firewall,.. I install it. (if some one posts about a new firewall,.. I install it,.. its playtime)

Well today, up to now,.. I am using online armor+firewall, and NOD. (Good combo)

Hey Stem, I was being sarcastic, I don't mind either if they ask questions, have comments, or have any criticism about my setup. I too can't keep a lineup of software for very long, takes the fun out of it.

FD-ISR - Frozen Snapshot on clean system (thanks to Erik Albert's regular postings) prefer it to constant scanning apps. Made a habit of rebooting to Frozen snapshot everytime I put the kettle on.

GreenBorder - on trial, but certain to buy. Works now with Firefox and seems just as fast as Sandboxie although it has a bigger footprint.

Roboform - excellent for secure password management

    Firefox 2.0

    Nat Router (Netgear)

Occasionally use a AV/ AT on free trial offer for a double check scan.

You copy and paste the list to a notepad txt file, then rename it to customblocking.txt and copy and paste it into the spyware blaster installation directory. That automatically inserts it when you click tools and go to the custom blocking tab, then click select all and then click protect against checked items.
