GData 2011 is quite appealing me, but it depens on resource usage.
Could you give some details about RAM usage and some other screenshots maybe =).

look guys, I am not about to say it will work or no it wont work. Every product on every setup behaves differently and uses different amounts of ram. I urge you to get the free trial and see for yourself. I am not about to recomend you spend money and it doesnt work. 2011 will be out in about 14 days and it is lighter, so you may want to wait.

I still do not understand what heavy means. With G Data if the determing factor is how quick my browser opens, then it passes perfectly. My computer starts up and loads G Data faster then most. If it is processes I do not see where my CPU is hardly even being used with it. Now it goes up fairly high during a scan, but I really dont scan anymore.\

Try it, please dont go on my avatar alone.

I will give the 2011 AV a try when the trial is out =)

the thing in its resource usage that stood out the most to me was its consistently high IO usage, 100,000-300,000 range for both read and write, rarely went bellow 100,000

There any way to disable that little popup "Checking Downloads" without disabling HTTP scanning altogether? That is the only thing keeping me away from G Data as it annoyed the crap out of me.

dont know, it doesnt bother me but I see what you are saying. Keep in mind G Data pretty much is set up right out of the box with little configuration ability. But hey, aint that price great.;)

There is enough great about GData, that is why I said GData is really appealing to me.

GData is always on top (or near the top) with third-party tests, higher than my current ESET NOD32.
GData is for what it offers really cheap, €24.95 for the AV, which is a lot lower than ESET (36.95)
GData is getting lighter the last years, ESET is getting heavier.
The new GUI of 2011 looks great in my opinion, I know it shouldn't be a real deal, but I like it.
So if ESET 5 doesn't have real improvements G Data is extremely appealing to me.

It disabled my USB ports and i cannot recover them, i'll be reformatting my PC tomorrow (I posted this on the Comodo Forum)
And i can use my USB ports through VM. Seems like it messed up my USB drivers or something.

Anyway i was expecting a reformat soon, if my pc was brand new formatted i would get upset :D But not now

Is there a reason why you don't use imaging software?
Then you could just revert to the original image and you're good to go.
    Just curious.

I made 2 Manual restore points before installing CTM (Windows one, i know it's not the best but it's handy sometimes) but it looks like CTM screwed my restore points too
