I know...MBAM is for protection from rogues..Because i have two lil sis those who don't know about rogues and all...AppGuard is there to provide protection from any .exe file.

KIS can be configured to serve as an anti-executable as well.
Go into Settings > Application Control > Other applications > Assign the following status automatically = Untrusted.

Now when you try to run something that KIS isn't familiar with then it'll get blocked and you'll have to manually go into your Application Control and change its status to Trusted or Low/High Restricted, but you could eliminate another realtime security application.

Just a tip in case you weren't aware.

i tried MSE for six months with sandboxie for a while. i was never infected but something wasnt right ... the start up was fast etc but it just didnt feel ok to me so i moved to avast free and sandboxie and i feel great so its whatever makes you comfortable with is the right setup. i use vista firewall for the same reason because with other firewalls i didnt know what all the popup out-going connections were so it was better that way... even surfing dark corners of the net i have not been infected with this simple setup. no need to get too paranoid guys....backing up and encrypting data is better than having too many realtime applications which kill the system....

I'll keep ESET NOD32 Smart Security along with A-Squared V5.
Still have Outpost but it's deactivated currently :D (Since i already got NOD32 firewall, though NOD32 got no HIPS)

  17. I got a simple setup of Comodo Firewall and Avast 5 Free. Two on-demand scanners. That's about it. :)

What can I say - so far I love Avira v10. :D They FINALLY switched the old interface and behavior, even the free version now has proper prompting. :thumb: That alone is enough to make me use it and consider it an option. :isay:

No, I disabled the AV, might run just manual scans with it, but I don't think I need to. This way they work just fine, light and very effective. ;) Avira's effectiveness with COMODO's D+ and sandbox is gold worth. :) ALL FREE! :D
