    My setup these days is:

    NOD32
    Spybot S&D
    Prevx
    SocketShield
My own custom build of Firefox (w/ NoScript, Adblock and other ext's)
    Spambayes
    Anonymizer.com account
Windows XP hardened using NSA's workstation.inf template....check my blog and you'll see why :)

Oh yeah....that's all running in a VMWare session, connected to a Wireless AP in my DMZ.

Well no one cant say we didn't objectively look at other products. But Antivir is my final choice. But it is different for all and that is what makes this place great.

it is a great av no doubt about that. (bitdefender av is the best!! try it out) just a little joke about your post earlier.

    its hard for me.

its an av that will be used for 1 year.

i mean all the ones in testing are better and lighter than f-secure. most av updates are small. not like f-secure updates over 10mb holy cow lol

    Hi

After numerous changes over the last 18 months - some have stayed over that period - some are new, here's my current set-up. In red are the ones that I may at some point dispense with (I think  ) some of them reluctantly from the point of view they seem like old friends.

    Resident

    NOD 32
    Look'n'Stop Enhanced Rule Set
    ShadowSurfer V2
    Process Guard Full Version V3.410
System Safety Monitor ( free - but considering paid) V2..0.8.582
    Spyware Guard

    On Demand

    Ewido V4 Free
    A2 Free
    Spybot
    AdAware
    RootkitRevealer
    Sophos AntiRootkit
    Spyware Blaster
    BitDefender Free V8
    SUPERAntispyware Free
    Spyware Blaster

    Default Browser and e-mail client

    Opera V9.02

All in all running nice and smooth and no apparent conflicts.

New Final Layered Security Setup, called Rollback Intrusion Prevention = R.I.P.

    a. Layer-1 : Router DLink DI-604
    b. Layer-2 : Look 'n' Stop, in case router fails.
    c. Layer-3 : Prevx1 Pro, to prevent installation and execution of malwares.
    d. Layer-4 : Frozen Snapshot (FDISR), for automatic removal of all threats during reboot, in case Prevx1 and LnS fails.
    e. Layer-5 : Archived Snapshot to recover the frozen snapshot, in case current frozen snapshot fails.
    f. Layer-6 : Image Backup File, in case FirstDefense-ISR fails.
    g. Layer-7 : FirstDefense-ISR, in case Acronis True Image fails.

No scanners and nothing else either.

    Cleaning-time : 90 seconds.

    Update...

    Stayed the same:
    Firewall - Zone Alarm Free
    Antivirus - KAV 6
    Ad Blocking - SuperAdBlocker
    AntiTrojan - Boclean
Security Suite - Regrun Platinum(includes UnHackme rootkit detection)
    HIPS - Prevx1

    Added:
Ad blocking - Ad Muncher(in addition to SuperAdBlocker)
    Cookie monitoring - CookiePal

I added Ad Muncher mainly for the referer blocking and stopping sites messing with my IE6 settings. Refer to the screenie to see what i mean.

I replaced Cookiewall with CookiePal because after doing some testing with Cookiewall i found it was missing some cookies even though i had it set to delete all new cookies every 10 seconds. I don't like cookies. Especially tracking cookies. I didn't ask a website to track my movements from site to site. CP takes care of those.

You may notice one obvious tick missing. Personal choice :)

Hey Muf, have you tried cookie crusher? What browser do you mainly use? Doesn't too much adblocking cause problems for you like some popups you really need.
