What is your security setup these days?

    OK, I've just added Scoty in Plus version to my current config.

    Realtime:
    DefenseWall Personal Firewall (beta)
    WinPatrol Plus

    On-demand:
    ShadowProtect (image backup)
    Syncback Free (data backup)
    Shadow Defender
    Dr.Web CureIt! (scan once per few months)
    MBAM (scan once per few months)

    Dropped avast 5 pro again.
    Seemed to slow things down...for me at least.
    Running...
    OA++ and GesWall pro
    What could scotty do for me? Is it just another HIPS?

    No it can't hurt to support Bill, but it won't make your setup stronger :D

    No activeX and browser plug-ins notification is possibly a bonus (allthough GeSWall wil make sure active X can't/plug-ins can't do any harm).

    is ther really any point running Zemana alongside a full suite with a more than capable HIPS(OA)? seems like it wuld just be a lot of overlap

    Probably will be Firzen. I am mostly trying it out for something to do and to see what all it does. Wifey just ordered me to get Zemana off her computer after the third popup just showed.

    Yeah, she still remembers when I put Process Guard on it without letting it run thru learning mode first.

    I did something like that on my family's machine, I put online armor on their machine. Online Armor did not last very long with all the popups it was giving.

    Put OA++ into learning mode and open all your apps once and then turn off learning mode. You won't see any popups after that unless something new is trying to execute. It is extremely quiet once it learns your system.
