I run daily scans as well if I am not working on this machine, good for my wife, my dog and my night rest :D. I have some but not all realtime protection apps. turned off.
Screamer your SocketShield version should be 1.1.1.0014 :)

Gerard, I stand corrected. It is 1.1.1.0014 ;)

    ...screamer

edit: Actually my scans run overnight as well as my back-ups. Obviously(SP?) NOD32 & ewido before GBM, ATI & FD-ISR

I added Socketshield back to my setup also. I got a free one year license, that is the only reason why I am running it. It's quiet and low resources.

Well continuing the other topic, good thing I ain't married! Don't have to be worried about getting caught. Mike don't get any ideas to block them automatically with Online Armor, but if you do, put an easy on\off switch. ;)

The word on the street is to get a free Zone Alarm Firewall and a free Advast A/V. You can do boot scans with Advast and the firewall blocks EVERYTHING.Also get free Spybot Search and Destroy, free AdAware and free Spyware blaster. Check yourself at shieldsup.com :thumb: to see if you are really protected and see if you can stand up to their intense try to break in to your computer to test your firewall. I was 100% protected for free!!

Get all programs at: download.com :thumb:

Your comments are appreciated. :thumb: :thumbd:

    Hey WSFuser,

You change security apps more often than most people probably change their underwear! :p

Seriously....I think you've switched from NOD32 to KAV...then back to NOD32....and then back to KAV again probably a half dozen times or so in the past few months! Do you have a license for both? Or is there some other reason you switch that often...like trying to compare the two?

BTW....how are you liking Outpost compared to Look 'n' Stop? Is it as easy, or easier, to understand and configure?

hehe yes i like testing apps that much ^_^

nod32 i use trial; kav im using beta license

the first time i used kav 6 because i found it ran light on my computer; this time im running kav 6 because the on-demand scanner is faster

as for outpost, i switched only because of some BSOD i think was caused by looknstop. i wasnt able to verify this 100% but i havent had any bsod lately either.

outpost has more pop-ups (component control) and its heavier, but i like it and development is more "alive".
