Using the same setup for about 2 months now (my sig, except OA) on my Win XP SP2 machine.

    For my Win 7 RC:

    UAC + SRP + DEP + LUA
    Vista Firewall Control
    Sandboxie (paid)

    Nice set up!
Never tried IObit yet but I am tempted.
Can Prevx really add anything to a set up of Avira, OA and DW?
I would think that would be overkill. :)

DefenseWall - Avira - IObit - Roboform. Maybe IObit is not needed, but they run very light together so I will keep it on.

DefenseWall got 100% at AV comparatives - so its my main man and has been for a long time.

    Best Regards

IMO it adds behavior protection which helps me with the 'unknown'. Plus Prevx does catch some stuff which Avira doesn't :)

    ...Peace of mind ;)

I see most people here in Wilders prefer using Freeware security programs.

Anyways, I'm testing IOBit Security 360.

I'm back to the setup in my sig. It's the thing that works for me the best on 64-bit.

personally i hadn't considered CC and a registry defrag program , as part of my security setup.

Could you maybe say what features they have that you feel add security to your system ?

Testing PCArmor formerly known as Spyberus, and I love this app! It is really incredible and very simple. Still wondering whether I will add it or leave it.

...Hopefully I'll keep it, but we'll see :D

Ccleaner helps me to keep a tempory file clean, delete cache... It reduce useless file that can be infected by spyware.

But you right for Registry Defrag nothing deals with security. Just a "plus" that i use to keep clean HDD and save space (by the way make it running faster).

Both or them are not security program but it helps to keep a clean and fast environment where real security program can run well.

Ive tested out countless combinations of security programs, security suites, backup software etc etc and have finally decided on the following providing light bloatfree and pretty much bulletproof protection:

    Netgear Router (with OpenDNS Filtering)

Laptop: Vista SP2 (UAC and Windows Defender Disabled)

Used for work, banking/online purchases, general browsing, gaming etc

    Active
    Avira Antivir (Free)
    Outpost Firewall Pro
    SandboxIE (Paid)

    Passive
    SpywareBlaster
    KeyScrambler Free
Browser: Firefox (AdblockPlus, Easy Privacy) and IE8 (InPrivate Filtering Custom Blocklist)
    Backup: Shadow Protect

Desktop: Vista SP2 (Windows Defender Disabled)

Used only for browsing and schoolwork.

    Active
    KIS 2009
    Defensewall

    Passive
    SpywareBlaster
    KeyScrambler Free
Browser: IE8 (InPrivate Filtering Custom Blocklist)
    Backup: Acronis True Image

    Desktop: XP SP3

Heavy p2p use, software testing, unsafe browsing, work etc

    Active
    Avira Antivir (Free)
    Online Armour (Paid)
    Admuncher
    FD-ISR

    Passive
    SpywareBlaster
    Keyscrambler Free
    Browser: IE8

Im open to suggestions if anyone feels there is anything in any of the setups that isnt really necessary. But in my experience, both kaspersky and avira detect the majority of malware, and anything that may slip past is taken care of by sandboxIE, defensewall or Online Armour's 'Run Safer'.

jmonge - I am also trying Adblock Plus with this ruleset: http://www.malwaredomains.com/ with a modified HOSTS file. Always liked blocking type lists with my security setup. They are free, don't use any resources and don't slow things down (unless list is too large). There are many lists out there to choose from. hpHosts is also a good one: http://hosts-file.net/. You can use: HostsXpert v4.3 http://www.funkytoad.com/ to manage, merge the two lists.
