Don't forget to play the hidden Easter Egg game in Spybot, accessed by clicking the binoculars on the Scan page !!

(Can't believe I remembered about that after all these years :D)

I tried Macrium Reflex & found it necessary to read the instructions. After reading 2 pages, I switched to R-Drive Image, and never needed to read anything -- it is very user friendly for the way my mind works. Your mileage may differ.

    R-Drive-Image description:
"...drive image files can then be stored in a variety of places, including various removable media such as CD-R(W)/DVD, Iomega Zip or Jazz disks, etc."
    LOL
I haven't used it for quite some time, but use their R-Studio, for data recovery.
For backup I use Veeam. Easy and reliable.

I must admit that Macrium at first gives the impression of having a steep learning curve, the GUI is full of data, but if one gives it a try (without reading the instructions, I haven't) one realizes that most processes are automated and fairly intuitive.

Restoring is a bit daunting at first, but again from within Windows the process is automated with only 3-4 clicks. As you say to each his own, and quite frankly when something works fine why bother trying out another application?

It is also cheaper (R-Drive Image is) a convincing argument...

Just Malwarebytes Browser Guard & AdGuard Browser Extension. Trusting Apple for the rest of security on macOS Catalina. :)

Out of curiosity, I wanted to find out the price, but they want name and e-mail to supply this information... A bad start IMO.

Veeam Agent is free, for home and small business.
Once downloaded, and installed, there are no nags, no advertisement, no registration, no account,
    not a single annoyance.

The difference in my computer's stability and speed has been awesome. Three days since disabling MB real-time protection and I wish I'd done it sooner.

Happy New Year to all :)

i take it that it's kav in your setup, not kis. right? otherwise, sumo would be redundant.

    hny to you, too.

KIS does help to keep some apps up to date but SUMo does a much better job in this respect, so SUMo is definitely needed if you want to keep all your apps up to date.

So do I. I only use SUMo to scan my machine for outdated apps. If it finds any, I always update them manually.

I use KIS and not KAV. I use SUMo as it finds much more software updates, as @Buddel said. I also use it only to detect new versions but I update software manually.

lol - I went to the R-Drive Image site and was totally confused. I use Macrium and find it very easy and dependable. I guess it's all in how one's mind works - and my mind is a little deficient, I guess!

Should you have any questions, problems etc. when you first use SUMo, you can always get in touch with @Kyle_Katarn, the developer of this tool.

:thumb::thumb: Exactly. SUMo is invaluable to me, especially also to detect updates to portables.

But I do love PatchMyPC for actual updating also of 'stuff' in it's monitored database.
