But then again, I dont even do much online anywho. I realized I've been way to paranoid. I run on sandboxie now...just because i feel better having "something" though i rarely use it.

Not enough, I have the same on a stand alone work pc and today while checking a few financial sites, the pc got infected and although KIS informed me it could do sod all, not even in safe mode, luckily SAS and Malwarebytes (on demand) scanned in safe mode and appear to have removed the offending trojans, before which the pc wouldn't load up.

I will have to re think the security set up but it is now clear to me a suite alone is not enough, bearing in mind the sites visited are strictly work related in the financial services industry. :doubt:

It's in my sig. A lot there, but they work well together!

I also have router, MB, SAS, Adaware, Spybot S&D, NoScript in Firefox, and KeyScrambler Personal.

Always the same sig, nothing changed.

Edit: upgrading with a new quad-core, the new ATI's gpus, etc. is somewhat more interesting...

May I suggest that whatever your choice of AV or suite might be (I think KIS is among the best) you ought to use a sandbox/virtualizer to be absolutely sure that at least on your next reboot or deleting the sandbox your system will recover its original state. This is particularly true for computers with important data. (Examples abound: Sandboxie, Returnil, DeepFreeze, DefenseWall, Shadow Defender, FirstDefense PC Rescue to name a few).

An imaging program might just be your last resort when everything else fails, including your harddrive (ShadowProtect, Acronis, Image for Windows etc.)

The best i ever seen on my screen:
    RESIDENT:
ProcessGuard 3.5 (Doesn't miss execution at all and alerts to changes)
EQSecure 4 Beta3 w/Alcyon's Rules (So many rules i forget which ones i use, their all great!)
MAMUTU (By far and away the very best Behavioral Blocker to compliment my HIPS i ever seen!)
    ScriptGuard (Just in case)

    ON DEMAND:
    AVZ Anti-Viral Tool
    SAS (Of Course)
MBAM (And then there was two) LoL

I really love using AVIRA thanks to all you members here raving over it now, but i only use it on a couple of my units because this Trio is such an Iron Shield that SandboxIE rarely gets any attention although she's there at command.

    Behind router ( https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=216112 )

    Vista64 gaming PC @3,2 Ghz (E6450), 4GBRAM (+ 4GB ready Boost), Raid0
    - Norton UAC tool
    - PRSC paid
    - Windows Defender (x64)
    - Avira free with check at write only, smart list, recursive depth 5 - no limits, medium heuristics
    - FF as main browser + IE8 beta 2 with settings high in protected mode for dodgy browsing

XP Pro home PC @3,13 Ghz (E5200) 2GB RAM, Sata
    - Some software restriction policy running applicable to Admin also
    - Malware Defender (as setup in https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=226940 :p )
    - Avira free with check at write only, smart list, recursive depth 5 - no limits, high heuristics
    - IE7 as main browser, SR IRON (Chrome beta) for dodgy browsing

    Unused lisences
    - A2 Malware V4 (valid through July 2009) :thumb: :thumb: (excellent program, just wanting a lighter setup now with XP Pro on cheap OC-ed dual core E5200)
    - GesWall Pro (life time lisence) :thumb: (good fast program, due to application wizard will still be suitable to use on XP/Vist32 even when life time of product might be human  )

Mom of 75 uses DefenseWall on her pentium @2.0Ghz, 1 GB RAM with XP home (lisence DW is valid through 2011) :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: (easiest HIPS/Policy Sandbox around on windows 32 bit platform)

    Cheers

XP SP2 (no need for SP3). Vista can go to hell.

    Online Armor 3 Free
    SuperAntiSpyware full (trial)
    Avira free

    Oh, and Firefox with Noscript.

Don't need nutin' else. Never find any spyware except tracking cookies. No viruses except in places where they are always present (suspicious files from rapidshare etc.) =/

Been wondering on running Firefox sandboxed and then getting rid of Noscript and installing SuperAntiSpyware free (on-demand instead of real-time) for occasional system scans.

Oh, and once in a long while I will boot up Ultimate Boot CD for Windows and runs some scans there.
