This 1% black swan event is when you get pwnd because of this stock pile of easily exploitable 'security' software you are using.

nice try, but heaven't heard about "easily exploitable" Bitdefender or Qihu.
I understand my real time setup can look quite too numerous, but why not ? I'm sure Bitdefender alone would be suffice. I started to add additional antiviruses only for experimental purposes - to look how many of them I can manage to run together with idea that additional antivirus which delays my boot time will be deleted. Here I'm running 3 AV's and having same boot time of 19s and no delays in handling pc.

Why don't you use Emsisoft Emergency Kit instead?

in system tray right click emsisoft icon and click "shutdown protection" or you can variate your options in main emsisfotf window clicking on surfprotection, fileguard and behaviour blocking by unchecking "activation"

You could be surprised. Once I had to fix a computer where Nod and Norton were installed at same time. When user got malware detected by both Avs I thought that I died and was sent to pop-up heaven. ESET was trying to block Norton and vice versa. I could hardly disable ESET as popups were so fast I couldn't close them fast enough. If you use multiple Avs at least make exclusions for each other.

Well if second or third AV is built to be compatible with others (like MBAM), then I don't see much harm in it. But personally I prefer to have less. At least real-time...

Even the slowdown a single product causes is enough to drive me off a cliff, I couldn't imagine stacking multiple ones. That's on fast, 6-8 core machines in some cases, but I think the faster the machine, the more 'feels' sensitive to subtle changes. Only a couple of products give me no noticeable performance hit, and Eset is one of them. Which is why I really appreciate Adguard(malware database), Appguard, and Eset. Combined they offer ridiculously good protection, and I cannot discern any performance hit, not even with application launch timers, and so forth. So that's a win for me.

Good Afternoon! DoctorPC...ironically that's the Dynamic Duo I currently have enabled...ESET S.S.7 and AppGuard...Excellent Combo! The only alternative to ESET would in my opinion be Emsisoft Internet Security V9...currently in Beta...this past week I participated as a Tester...and must Admit it's a Quality Product through and through. Sincerely...Securon

Changed my setup a bit. Not because of issues, but because.. Well. Change is fun.

DNS is now Norton-SafeDNS, that should boost the Malware Detection.
Removed MBAM 2x. Problematic, too heavy feeling now.
Added Zemana Antilogger w/Intelliguard Cloud (all checks) - good MBAM replacement I suspect.

Nice part is. Zemana seems to offer NO increase to system weight, but seems to offer some enhanced protection. The only idea here is to shore up the system when Appguard is disabled for installations.

Personally for now.. still see no need to use anything other than whats in my SIG. :), However i am trialing Driver Radar Pro to compliment ERP, they are working very well together would love to see an integration with dll protection as well.
