360 Internet Security plus Online Armor pretty much seals the deal on this end so far as hot surfing goes. You can always put the whole shooting match inside Shadow Defender and run unopposed.

Don't you think AG or VS are redundant in this config?

    My new setup is:

    -Avira Antivirus Suite 2014
    -Malwarebytes 2.0
    -Hitmanpro

It is running pretty fast on the system.

Good Afternoon! Siketa!...I suppose there are similarities......in my case I'd like to give both at least a healthy three mth test period to ascertain all if any differences. Sincerely...Securon

Wow, that´s quite shocking Kees, are you really not using any third party security tools (like HIPS) anymore? :)

Personally, I´m not into Unix at all, I don´t understand what all the fuss is about. I´ve been using Windows since 1996 (Win 95) and will keep using it, till the day that I die. I´ve also once had to work on a Mac for a couple of hours, it was truly horrible, never again!

Glad to hear, I´m also still using it on Win XP. :)

I still wonder how it works though, I mean, is it polling for changes? It doesn´t even install a hook or anything, but still it seems to be real-time based.

It IS real time polling from an API I imagine. It's one of the first carry overs from 98 to XP to Windows 8 now I always include in any security setup. It's logging is always spot on with no footprint.

Time's up! Still no updates for Dragon. I'll be switching back to Chrome when I have the time to re-install it. I already have Chrome and CCleaner installers in my computer, just need some more time to finalize the whole things before it's ready to use.

Superbird is a good Chrome alternative.

Oh what? An error when installing Chrome so I had to delete some registry keys? That's kinda annoying. Anyway, postponed CCleaner since I am still not sure of how much I would need it.

I went to their website, and apparently they use the same language as Iron's developer(s). Thanks for the suggestion, but I don't think I would let it touch my system. :)

    Me three...

Wait I already switched. Im running Debian now, no security tools required. I got a cheap $200 Windows 7 as a back up.

Really, Windows feels bloated. My Linux set up loads software instantly, Office Suite almost instantly. I don't get any sluggishness or bugs unlike 7 which btw is quite solid but still bloated. Windows 7 resource usages is off the chart compared to Debian Xfce.

Best part yet, I dropped all security software after switching to Linux so my security set up is:
    --> Debian

Removed Sandboxie. My real-time protection: ESET Nod32, OpenDNS, Adblock Plus, UAC on max, Windows FW.

EDIT: I also added Malwarebytes AM 1.75 as real-time scanner.
