Been running with this setup a couple months:
    Avira Antivir Premium
    Look N' Stop 2.06
    Mamutu IDS

Sometimes just for thrills I go with:
Avira Premium Security Suite and Mamutu IDS..and Add Muncher always

    Either way works great...:D

    Deep Freeze (on C drive)
    Returnil (on-demand in other drives)
    HOSTS file
    SpywareBlaster
    Comodo Internet Security
    Sandboxie
    Winpatrol PLUS
    MBAM and SAS
    HijackThis
    Proxomitron
    Flock 2 (w/ various FF add-ons)

I installed K9 Web Protection on my son's PC and WinDirStat in case K9's protection slipped through.
WinDirStat lets me know if he's been looking through porn and other nasty things in the web.

As many of you know i regularly alternate various combinations and pit them against my malware samples and expecially the newest crud recently released when i capture them.

ATM, or more specifically this week i'm running MBAM + SAS for search & destroy detail while keeping MAMUTU + Real-Time Defender monitoring movements or any forced approaches in their attempts to breach these HIPS/Behavoral Blockers.

Satisfaction is the results so far. No penetrations yet. But i always watch in anticipation if something retooled in malware might succeed to get a foothold.

MAMUTU + THREATFIRE tandemed with HIPS is a razor wire obstacle that makes any efforts to that end virtually useless so far.

mamutu is a World-Class Behavioral Blocker IMHO with the newest Threatfire hot on it;s heels. They just need to add a DENY option for convenience sake like MAMUTU as far as i see it in usefulness with no wasted time digging up a good QUARANTINE to restore.

    My opinion group. Thnxs

    Behind router,

    XP Pro SP3 E5200@3,0 Ghz 2GB
    - Power user with some extra SRP (LUA internet facing, blocked temp/shared directories)
    - Threatfire with custom rules (outbound, registry HKCU, old dos progs, execution outside own directory of internet facing programs)
    - Chromium (and its sandboxed rendering engine)

    That's it

DarkStalker is using sandboxie, which means, no virus can bust out while he is surfing the web, using msn, downloading files. Everything is trapped, contained, and nothing is left on his system after the sandbox is emptied.

He also has Shadow Defender, which he can turn on anytime he wants, say if his friend wants to insert a USB stick, and run a couple of programs on his system. Viruses can be installed, screw up the system, but after a reboot, it's all gone.

He also has the two best anti-spyware programs, MBAM and Supernantispyware, and on-demand anti-virus, with Dr-Web's Cureit, which he can use to scan a particular file he wants to keep (the rest of his files are going to get annihilated with either sandboxie or Shadow Defender).

Also is running the AVZ tool, which can also do an on-demand scan on a file/folder and will search out any rootkit or keylogger running in no time.

Not to mention his Firefox browser is running Noscript.

Personally, with all of these tools using virtually no resources, I think it's a top set-up. :) :thumb:
