    +1

Emsisoft sure improved the speed since I tried it last. I installed it last week while deciding what to use next, and have been surprised by the low impact so not seeing a reason to change right now.

Is EAM a real Antivirus now or more of à Antimalware? Is EAM Alone enough to protect me?

What is the difference? It's just another name.
    Virus=malware

Any of the main AVs would probably be enough to protect you if know what you are doing. Layering is always a good idea, EAM comes with a behavior blocker and web protection, and you can add other things like the MBAM and HMP listed in you signature. I'm using VoodooShield and Sandboxie with EAM these days.

Yes it is, EAM is a combination of Bitdefender engine + inhouse engine + Mamutu Behavior Blocker.

Do you think anti-malware means less than anti-virus? Viruses are only a subcategory of malware (= malicious software). The term anti-malware is actually more precise. If anything, you should ask yourself if anti-virus labeled products protect you only from viruses. Of course they do more than that, but the vendors chose to stay with "anti-virus" because people are confused by "anti-malware". This question here is proof of that.

In the last month, I have tried and taken a hard look at, Avast, Avira, WSA, Panda, and of course Eset. Honestly I could go with any of these and feel safe. I mean they are all light, very good detection and no issues on my systems.

I am sure there are a lst of others I could add, but you can only do such much in a month, but we argue our "Brands" way to much. These vendors have all done a great job in keeping up and disproving the myth of the "Death of the AV."

Honestly, I will stick to my old way of having a AV and MBAM for backup. Cheers

I have several times seen people ask "I use this Antivirus but I wonder if I need to buy an Anti-Malware product too?" Often it's Malwarebytes Anti-Malware that they refer to.

Other vendors have probably continued using "Antivirus" in their product name, since that's what most people look for. They don't know what Anti-Malware or Malware is.

I make my EAM to Paranoid mode. To my surprise no additional popups at all. A very usable app.

I've always liked Roboscan and have a pro licence - which I'm not using currently. It's a shame that there is such a long delay between the release of new versions, and that new versions at the moment are only offering minor bug fixes, not adding any major changes.

However, what I really like about Roboscan is that it really is exceptionally light almost all of the time. In the past few days, I've installed it on a couple of customer's computers which had slower processors in them.

    well Roger, you done good.;)

In all honesty its malware prevention is as good as anything out there. Cleaning is a different story, so the key is to install it on a clean system and you will be ok, very ok.

As far as versions and enhancements, I really dont care, it could have the same version 5 years later, but if its protection is stellar, then I am fine. We have some products here that update as often as the sun rises, for whato_O

I know that some people have claimed it's detection rates are poor. But it did really well in the latest VB RAP tests, and I'm more inclined to believe the results of VB testing showing it has good detection.

That's a good point, and I really like Roboscan as it is right now.

It's good to see you using Roboscan as it seemed that no one here was using it anymore.
