One realtime protection is enough. You can safely eliminate MBAM when you have AppGuard.

KaptainBug, you are showing Avira, MBAM, EMET and Appguard, at least 3 of those are realtime, no?

I use MBAM as on-demand. My realtime is avira, AG, EMET and winpatrol each one covers different aspects of security. Just my thought. If you feel you are much protected with MBAM then thats fine. When you use AG your system is pretty much locked.

PS: Realtime AV I meant :)

So we are almost the same , antivirus, Appguard, Winpatrol, you use EMET, I use MBAM. Basically just wondering if Appguard would replace MBAE and HitmanPro Alert.

I'm running Malwarebytes anti-Malware 2 beta, with real time protection enabled. It is very light.

I have no other security software.

My real-time security setup: UAC set on max, ESET Nod32 AV, OpenDNS and AdblockPlus. I moved from "total control" state of mind to "set and forget" and I like it :)

Now I have OA free + EAM lic + EMET combo. It feels light.

    Windows-7 Ultimate 64-bit
    SUA
    UAC - max

I keep a couple of OS images made with Paragon, Macrium and Eaz-Fix.

    Eaz-Fix 9.1 snapshot time machine

    EMET 4.1:
    - DEP Opt Out
    - SEHOP Opt Out
    - ASLR Opt In
    - All internet facing and routine apps are covered by EMET

    Emsisoft Online Armor free
    HIPS on
    FW on

    Emsisoft Antimalware licensed
    BB on
Surf Protection - all 3 protections on. I like how it works. It blocked some suspicious hosts.

I'm running UnThreat Free AntiVirus 2014 now. After some tweaking of the settings, it is being very light. I had to disable "Check files when they are read/written/copied" to stop spikes in CPU use when opening folders in Explorer. Of course, leaving it enabled gives better protection, if you don't mind the CPU use.

I had some dramas installing it. The first time I installed it the installed failed before completing and I ended up with the trial of the 2013 paid version for some reason. I had to uninstall and then reinstall it, and this time I did get the 2014 free version.

MSE, SpywareBlaster & MBAM (on demand) on all three machines. Flirted with SpyBot 2 on my Belnea laptop but realised it wasn't for me. Other than those three I just use some degree of browser hardening, well, that along with commonsense.exe! ;)
