To make things simple, just add Sandboxie to his current setup. Leave Sandboxie settings on default, except, setting things up so he can save bookmarks and downloads out of the sandbox and set the sandbox to delete on closing. It cant be any simpler than that and you know that it works. Whenever a friend in real life ask me about what to use to stay clean, all I do is install MSE or enable Windows defender if the PC is W8 and add Sandboxie. A setup like that is all that most people that I know needs. Most don't ever go into settings or get infected again.

Good advice, but the client has used Sandboxie in the past, but he ended up not liking it.

Client is somewhat limited on memory, so I think MBAMPro might drag on his system just a little.

If he had more leg room for more memory, then this would be a possible recommendation.

Client only has 2GB of ram and wants to clear the load a little, which is why he wants light and effective.

See, thats the thing about sandboxie. Its amazing but theres just something about it. Around 50% of my client base end up not liking it for many different reasons. So what i set people up with is whats in my settup. Avast 2014 with hardened mode on agressive and EMET and so far ive had no re-infections (keeping my fingers crossed):D

Yeah, I have a lot of clients of mine that end up not liking Sandboxie, I don't know what it is.

Nice and simple setup you got there Antimalware18 :thumb:

After removing a few things that might not have been totally necessary I'm now running just Webroot and VoodooShield

Yea mbam uses too much resources, appguard is alot more complicated than sbie imo...the setup you mentioned should be fine along with a dns and i'd add mvps hosts and wot

I removed ESET. Don't think I need RT antivirus. On-demand scan with HitmanPro is more than enough.

Sandboxie and Malware Defender. Also Adblock Plus and OpenDNS. Don't have any black-listing software.
