Yes, if you test on truly malicious sites (I can PM if you want). They're that rare in real life. WOT warns (doesn't block) far more of advertising, previously malicious, and grey areas. Both have FP's, but WOT is definitely more trigger-happy.

I also tested it against malicious sites and it still didn't give red (or X) markers on the search results. No, it's not about screensavers, please...

    You can't.

Agree. Most are so quickly dead.

That's the polite way to say "I saw someone said it's a malicious site so I'll rate it as a bad website as well!!!!!1!". :argh:

    PC#1
    Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit
Eaz-Fix 9.1 (Rx clone, snapshot time machine)
    Applocker hash rules.
    SRP
    EMET 4.0 Dep OptOut
CIS HIPS in Safe Mode, FW in Custom Ruleset
Shadow Defender - all disks in Shadow mode (I must remember to commit necessary files)

    PC#2
    Windows 7 Prof 32 bit
    CTM 2.8
    EMET 4.0 Max settings
CIS HIPS in Safe Mode, FW in Custom Ruleset
    DefenceWall

I guess these two setups are overparanoid unless you want to execute malware there.

For the last few weeks I've been using G data 2014 Av along side OA ...Really like G data but it sure wasn't playing nice on my pc...for one I was loosing my internet connection for only like 15 sec at a time then back on which I couldn't figure out and web pages were taking much longer to load that had video content on them...Overall impressed w/ G data Av and would have no issue using it on a more powerful pc...

That's how it was years ago from my experience. How about TrafficLight?

ABP is back since ScriptSafe gave me slowdowns and blocking advertisement domains through OA's custom blacklist is just too inefficient.

I am currently without realtime protection, because I have switched to the combination of AppGuard and Sandboxie. Originally I was running AppGuard alongside either EAM or Kaspersky Internet Security. I have tweaked the sandboxes' settings to allow for comfort and security as well.

Comfort wise: my internet browser has full access to its own profile folder.

    Additional measures:
    • seperate sandboxes for applications
    • auto-delete
    • use of program stop -> leader programs (when the main app closes, everything else is shut down as well)
    • restrictions -> start/run access (only the required processes for the app are allowed to start)
    • drop rights
    • read only access to c:\windows

It's really nice to see what sandboxie offers in addition to its default settings.

I agree, Sandboxie is really powerful and ingenious tool. A must have in my security setup.

Changed ImDisk to SoftPerfect RAM Disk, because the latter works better for startup mounting, performed better on raymond.cc, and is easier with features like auto-creation of folders. Back to running temporary files, downloads, and cache in the RAM drive.

Changed from OkayFreedom to SecurityKISS Tunnel, because my promotional license appears to have expired. Didn't know there was a 3 month trial period, they didn't state that until later promotions.

The author of Parted Magic decided to make it commercial, hid all download links from the main website, and even removed previously free versions (+checksums) on SourceForge. Therefore, I'm looking for an alternative with Truecrypt built-in. I'd rather not rely on Internet downloads or added packages. SystemRescueCd has a CLI version, but that is confusing to work with.

I removed Nod32 and will be AV-free for a while.

    Right now I use:
    UAC
    SRP
    Sandboxie
    EMET
    OpenDNS
    some other OD tools.
