Trying out AVG 2013 Free.... very light!
You should have kept Appguard and Spyshelter and dropped the rest in my opinion!
Good Evening! CrusherW9...are you of the mind...of perhaps forgoing the protection of Anti-Virus? As your aware Webroot...is generally viewed as being complimentary protection with a Conventional Anti-Virus. It's a keeper for me because of it's zero system impact...and it's overall improvement the last couple of years. Just might remove Avira and replace with AppGuard...thanks for your feedback. Sincerely...Securon
I do not have any active anti-virus programs installed sir! The only AV's I have are Hitman Pro and Emsisoft Command Line Scanner. That's all you need AppGuard + WSA then. I approve; not that anyone cares what I approve of. lol.
I approve your approval
Emsisoft IS + WSA + ERP ; Thanks - guest -
Back to webroot.
Edit: Well, I got a BSODs after some time of use... uninstalled it.
Now using only appguard and hitman pro.
with only DWPF as security app my office computer (XP, Pentium D 2.8 GHz, 960 MB RAM) feels lighter
Damn no x64 version yet... ! i am jealous...
Thank you for your reply.
My main PC x64 is jealous as well.
same here my friends
Yeah AVG is good. I might give them a shot instead of Avast. I prefer to run file system protection without any add-ons.
It feels lighter than Avast and scans relatively faster so I'm pretty settled.
Removed Kaspersky Antivirus
Added Avira AntiVirus and Webroot Antivirus
Light and secure
I notice from your sig that you also have Comodo's Firewall installed. Have you had any problems using Comodo's Virtual Kiosk with Webroot installed? I tried it on a couple of different computers, and trying to open the Kiosk always resulted in a BSOD. I had the full version of CIS installed, however, including the antivirus.
I never actually do use the Virtual Kiosk as it starts up too slow on my PC (20 secs) and i use Sandboxie for that purpose
however as you asked me about it, i tried it on my PC
it started up (said no to installing Comodo Dragon and silverlight) took 15-20 secs to do so
but after that it starts up and works just fine, no conflicts or blue screens
i am browsing from the Virtual Kiosk now.
Interesting. Must be something else I've got running. Thanks for checking!
XP Home S.P.3
SBIE ver 4.01.06
EMET ver 4.0
ExploitShield Browser Edition
Opera -Google SSL-WOT/Adblock/Ghostery/Dr.Web Link Checker.
The virtual kiosk etc was one of the fundamental reasons i decided to ditch version 6 because it simply has features i will rarely use or realistically need.
I have used sandboxie for years now and i had to make a decision as to which one to keep.
I chose sandboxie as it is time tested and has proven itself to be an effective product.
This of course left me with the added features of comodo 6 which to all intents and purposes have been left abandoned as i only virtualize my browser.
upon perusing through the comodo forum and the negative feedback on version 6 and 6.1 i have decided to revert back to v 5.12 which has features which are useful and none of the extra baggage.
CIS Premium 6
WSA internet security plus
paid versions of MBAM and HitmanPro
back to my old combo Emsisoft IS + WSA complete. thanks - guest -
i really love the idea of having Shadow Defender in the security arsenal just in case my antivirus missed some thing i may add it to have double layer
Separate names with a comma.
