Good Evening! J Monge...G-Data most assuredly contains a very effective Behaviour blocker. Check out the Security Channel...review on U Tube... and then come to your own conclusion. So far G-Data I.S. 2014 isn't as heavy on the users system...a big plus...hopefully it's detection rates will be as consistent as always. Sincerely...Securon

Why do you use abandoned behavior blocker while there is Mamutu the Great inside EAM?

Would Mamutu the Great in any way be related to Carnac the Magnificent?

Page42, what are you running? I remember you became a VIPRE supporter when I abandoned the ship. I've been tempted to try it again as I liked it performance-wise all the time, even after GFI took over.

    Hi atomomega,

I've been happily running VIPRE AV now for over 2 years. I started out with their suite, but the firewall gave my XP system problems, so I reverted to the AV. I like it just fine, it doesn't require any attention from me, and as I'm fond of saying, with Sandboxie onboard, my AV isn't all that important anyway. ;)

I think it is a good, solid AV, and run it on all my computers.

Want to have some fun then install "No Trace" its a Firefox extension.. Go to the control panel, set it to High, then go to Google images, look up landscapes, lakes, mountains, etc. then click on "No Trace" click "show blocked objects" Be aware it may break a connection or two but it will knock your socks off when you see the results..:argh:

    A review from Softpedia..

Dropped the idea of using SRP. Kinda wondering if that's the one that crashed explorer sometimes.

Hopefully I won't get hammered for this. :argh:

I've settled on Hitman Pro for on demand scanning. I should have just stayed with it in the first place

VirusTotal and Jotti's can be very good second opinions since you don't need to install anything.

the only downside is that they are limited in the size of what you can scan.
but pretty good to have nonetheless. :thumb:

HMP is a top notch tool and a must have.
It is fast, effective and relatively cheap.

Originally I was concerned about the file size limit and the lack of recursive scanning. Now I figure, I don't really torrent anything anymore so I don't really need the recursive scanning and if I download something larger than 32mb, as long as it came from a reputable site then I should be ok.

    Hello,

Well, I have been doing a lot of trial and error of many different set-ups since upgrading to Windows 8 Pro x64 and I have finally settled down into a set-up that I think I am going to stick with...

    WRSA-AV only
    AppGuard
    Spy Shelter premium
Widows Firewall Control with Windows Firewall
    Shadow Defender
    Pale Moon x64
    LastPass
    Ad Muncher
    DNS-Crypt with OpenDNS
    Nitro Reader
    TeraByte IFW/IFL/IFD

All work very well together on my system and runs extremely light with resources. I have tried a lot of softwares and a lot of combinations of them. This set-up is probably a little bit of overkill but I am one of those that likes to layer my security and not have it all relying on just one or two programs...

    Indeed :D
I would say that WSA and AG should be more than enough.

Can you please ellaborate on your concerns if you don't mind? I recently switched to DefenseWall from CIS 6 but for no reason other than testing. However, I've seen people here at Wilders complaining about CIS latest version. I may have overlooked something, so I'm just curious to know what's wrong.
