I really enjoyed reading the exchange between Zitch and Bo.
Both as a Sandboxie user and a Wilders member, I have to say I was impressed with the way Bo took the time to explain and educate. One of the best exchanges I've ever read around here.

    Oh, and my setup?

Sandboxie and some other stuff. ;)

Thanks! It's been used on a couple other machines in the household for years, but just added it a few days ago to my XP setup :)

The "other stuff" I define as Sandboxie's cast of supporting characters.
For me, it's Comodo FW D+, VIPRE AV and MBAM Pro.

Okay, that explains it then. Like I said, I would have bet money that you were already a SBIE user... so you just added it to the XP setup. Gotcha. ;)

    Thank you bud :D

Windows Firewall and NAT Firewall is what I'm using (Windows Firewall for now anyways).
I'm using Malwarebytes, Emsisoft Emergency Kit, Comodo Cleaning Essentials and HitmanPro as my On-Demand scanners, I just decided not to list them.
No incompatibility issues/conflicts what so ever, ERP and avast! mesh very well together.

I've finally decided that avast! and EXE Radar Pro are two real-time protections I won't give up. The only thing you might see me replace is Zemana Antilogger Free with a Firewall or some other protection.

Other than that, I'm quite happy with my setup.

    Added:

Windows Firewall configured to block all outbound connections by default.

Only programs allowed so far: Chrome, VT Hash Check and FilleHippo Update Checker.

Already uninstalled Bitdefender Free and only kept CFW 5.10 and No Autorun.

    I'm gonna try CIS 6.

By the way, does anybody have a link or guide I can follow to improve protection in CIS? I already followed Chiron's setup with CFW 5.10, I'm just curious if there's anything else that can be done. If there's a way to not install the AV, that would me much better.

    Thanks.

Who really cares? I guess it's a Facebook (look at me) mentality. :argh:

    Thank you.
Would you install it over the top?

Nah. I would do a fresh install. It has some newer features than Ver 5.
I'd be using it myself but it doesn't seem to place nice with sandboxie. At least not for me.

Ah I see. Any slowing downs in scanning speeds in mbam or avast!? In my pc mbam and avast! scannings take long time. Can't seem to stop avast! from monitoring mbam scanning even with exclusions. Mysteriously avast! scannings also take long even though mbam is on-demand.

But here's where I have a problem...if I apply the compatibility to Avast and Comodo, it automatically allows direct access. I seem to be running in circles. How can I do one, and not the other? I have not been able to figure that out. Is this something that is only in Sandboxie free, which I use, or is the paid version different? And I have to tell you that I am not into using command prompts to change settings.

Well, thanks, you guys probably don't know that I am almost 60 years old. I try to keep up with lots of new things, but I never was into using command prompts, stuff like that. I'm just a blue collar guy who likes to learn what he can.
Some of you might think I'm a little crazy, but I mean well, lol.
