Other than my also running Sandboxie, it seems we are on the same wavelength (going by the apps in your signature). :thumb:

Not one to rave to much about Any Antivirus but my happy clicker son just got nailed with 12 infections handled by Bitdefender and deleted on reboot with no remnant found by hitman Pro or rescan with BD.I know they where not false positives because the browser got borked. Everything is back to normal with no collateral damge.:thumb:Now his download days are over.

Bitdefender AntiVirus Plus 2013 is very strong i just wonder if the free version is as strong as the paid version or is there any catch?

    Give me your honest opinion....

What do you think of my security setup?

I had Comodo Firewall installed, but ExploitShield didn't work while that was installed.

My goal is not to over clutter the system with security apps, but to maintain a strong but light setup.

    And...

In case you were wondering, I do have an image software into place, Macrium Reflect

    So, what do you think?

    Good enough, or not quite?

Personally I think you have enough based on your sig currently.

    My setup - Win8Prox64:
    Windows Defender
    Sandboxie
EMET (Max) with Unsafe settings enabled
    UAC (Max)

I think its plenty good enough.IMO minimizing the attack surface is key to security.

    I would recommend

1)you use Avira Antivirus in place of Bitdefender Free
because Bitdefender Free is not yet there in terms of a complete product and is a tad bit heavier than Avira

2)and i would strongly recommend you get yourself Shadow Defender, it greatly reduces the chances of getting infected at all,
almost to the point of making Antiviruses redundant

    3)Comodo Dragon browser
