Ditched XP-AntiSpy and ditched the idea of having an anti-script solution. Playing with partition locking at this moment.

Erik I assume that you have used FF and NoScript ? I wouldn't want to go online without it.

Hi, I am smiling on this setup, Opera starts cold in a sec plus (< 2secs) on a Athlon 3900 single core, XP SP3

Rising FW (nearly default settings, trojan scan for denied aps)
DefenseWall (only mail files added as protected resource)
Rising AV (used as a HIPS, focussing on protecting OS-core, data partition checked at file creation, programs start ups other tha Windows and Program Files)

I had Comodo + Avast + DefenseWall for over a year, ThreatFire + DefenseWall for a long time, experimented the last two months with several setups, think this will be a keeper for as long as Rising provides such fantastic freeware.

    Cheers :thumb:

I still have FF+NoScript, but that's not a complete anti-script solution, the other part is too much work and the other shorter solution cripples my system too much. Can't find a decent anti-script software either.

    Hi

Wouldn't DefenseWall with Rising's HIPS provide adequate protection and make Rising Firewall redundant?

    Thanks

For protection YES, only I could tweak the AV settings a little (down size protection scope of appication access and startup control) because FW is taking care of it: result over a second less startup time of Opera (cold start, uncached start), that is only reason. Normally Less is More, with Rising More aps is less overhead, because you use them in their core competence.

I see a lot of people with SP3 recently! I decided to stay with sp2 as nothing useful were added.

I'm tempted to buy a nice new iMac, just for the fun of it ;) A pure jewel, technology speaking.

Edit: i'll probably drop Windows after a short while ;)

After all, free wifi at home with a super antenna, pc, linux & some wep hijack isn't too bad.

Right now I use only OA AV+. This is, of course, in case FD-ISR and VMWare are not security programs :)
