What is your security setup these days?

I reinstalled my system and removed some security related software.

    My setup now consists of:

    • Software Restriction Policies
    • Sandboxie
    • ESET Nod32 AV
    • HitmanPro
    • OpenDNS
    • other mitigations and hardening explained in link (signature)

I hope that I will stay with this setup at least till next year. It's really light and it covers most security areas.

How's Emsisoft Internet Security? Is it light? Does it play nice with Sandboxie?

Yeah sbie runs as smooth as butter with EISP. I've removed sbie for the time being though. I'm giving it some rest. ;)

Well I got myself lenovo thinkpad with 1.5 Ghz single core. The main bottleneck is the CPU and while VM will work, the amount of services it installs really slows down my system. I do have everything else maxed thou, including SSD and RAM.

That's why Im trying to keep my security really minimal. SBIE and MSE were the best thing that happened to my laptop.

It's not an x-series, by any chance? :)
Not very good for trying out stuff in a VM environment, but it's a pretty cool laptop ;)
Btw... i found CIS 5.10 to be very light in it.

Yeah its the X120e. It's perfect size, doesn't look weird when I take it to the hospital and good enough for doing work. Of course when it comes to playing Netflix and Skype video at the same time, things don't go so well. Same goes for VM. But it is mostly a work computer so its not a problem.

I tried CIS 5, it worked quite well but I prefer virtual environment for my security solution. I tried several such as DF, TTF, SD and all of them seemed to have a problem. Now Im trying SBIE and MSE.

Yeah I'm also running on minimal security arsenals. Only EISP with HitmanPro. :) Everything now runs fine. ;)

Use YesShield only if you don't have financial transactions online.

Why? I don't see any network interactions from it here.

So far I've settled on Avast Free, MBAM Pro and EMET Tech Preview with the XML file and recommended settings provided by HungryMan. For privacy-related security I've settled on Firefox with ABP and DNT+ and search provided by DDG.
