This is a free and open community like any other forum. Whenever you post something you are then accepting the fact that there will be constructive criticism. If you cannot handle constructive criticism then maybe you shouldn't post. You know what they say "If you can't with the big dogs then stay on the porch" :D

Dark Shadow is right, and so was tomazyk when he posted earlier, "Don't let other's comments put you off posting on this forum and don't take those posts to your heart."

Most folks join this forum in order to learn, share experiences and hopefully help others from time to time. But there are a handful who appear to have joined with different motives in mind. One of the biggest lessons to be learned here at Wilders is that no one person knows what is best for anyone, really, other than himself. I've often asked myself what is the point in trying to force one's beliefs on someone else? And the best answer I can come up with is, some folks have a driving need to win arguments and "be right". That's a tough road, that one.

Anyway, just wanted to say that I appreciate everyone here. I learn something from them all... just don't ask what it is I learn from some of them. :D I also think that the guys who frequent this thread and change their setups constantly are having fun, and they serve others when they post details of their experiences with new software or new versions. To each his own, I say.

My setup? Sandboxie and SOS (Some Other Stuff). SBIE makes the SOS less and less important. :thumb:

Let me guess, in this project of yours to divide Wilders posters into the big dogs and the little dogs, you won't be one of the weak ones left on the porch? See anything a little off-kilter in that attitude? If you see no reason to take it down a notch, maybe you could ask yourself why the people here with real in-depth understanding of how security works don't feel the need brag about it, but in my experience have been quietly generous with their help.

Still trialing BitDefender with no problems or impact. And a bonus, low false positives. This 2013 version seems significantly improved in how it's behaving on my computer.

Yep... and this is why having 2'nd/3'rd opinions like HMP & MBAM are a must. For any file I DL larger than 32MB, I shell scan them before removing from my sandbox with those 2 scanners.

I've added the addon VTzilla to FF to scan links. Once in awhile I'm not sure of one, and you can't always trust WOT ratings. With this you can right-click/scan them to find out if there's actually anything malicious there.

Also added BrowserProtect addon, after realizing that none of my other addons really did what it did. Granted, if scripts can't run on a page all bets for hijacks are pretty much off. But if I allow the scripts to run, shame on me if I don't have a backup plan.

Anyhow the 2 additions don't seem to be slowing my browser down, so they're keepers.

Definitely a welcome change from past versions then, because it was always one of the heavier AV's.

Honestly I never used it prior. But very much impressed. I just ran 10 links each from Malc0de,MDL and MalwareBlacklist...................The cloud web shield block all of them right at the web page. :D
