Why don't you try WSA along with KIS and Avast in your pcs? WSA is very much compatible you know.:)

Well I used Djigi's method to get Hitman Pro to automatically scan downloads. And got VT Hash Check integrated to my shell as well. So now I have it (VT), HMP, and MBAM in my shell, and HMP scanning files automatically before I recover them from my sandbox.

I feel pretty darned secure now with no real-time AV perpetually chewing on my HD. And less effort on my part, as I used to have to right click to scan those files manually before recovering from my sandbox.

Major props to Djigi for this HMP/auto scan method, and for the recommendation of VT Hash Check.

Good Morning ! Installed new Vipre I.S.2013 Premium...Version 6.0.5449...and so far very impressed...runs smoothly and harmoniously with WSA Essentials...and App Guard...I believe Vipre might very well be a Keeper. Sincerely...Securon

Emsisoft Internet Security Pack. Thinking of adding WSA. Don't know how much would they conflict though. Supposed to be pretty compatible.

For anyone looking for a nice, tight rule set to use HMP for auto-scanning (or any scanning):

    Rule 1 - DNS 1

Allow UDP Out, Source Add.- Network Zone (LAN), Dest. Add.- ipv4 single address (enter primary DNS address), Source Port- Any, Dest. Port- 53

    Rule 2 - DNS 2

Same as above, only enter secondary DNS address, of course, for the Destination Address

    Rule 3 - HTTP

Allow TCP Out, Source Add.- Network Zone (LAN), Dest. Add.- 87.249.108.118, Source Port- Any, Dest. Port- A Single Port (80)

    Rule 4 - Block Rule

Block IP, In/Out, Any, Any, Any

... these rules were made in Comodo FW. Depending on your FW, the rule setting may vary a bit, but I imagine it's similar enough.

The HTTP Dest. Address HMP uses will vary, but it quickly cycles though them if one doesn't work/is blocked. It only takes a couple seconds before it will use the one listed.

    Rules for VT Hash Check

The 2 DNS rules = same as above. And also the Block Rule at the bottom. The only difference:

    HTTPS Rule

Allow TCP Out, Source Add.- Network Zone (LAN), Dest. Add.- ipv4 single address- 74.125.34.46, Source Port- Any, Dest. Port- A Single Port (443)

... this is assuming you're using SSL to transmit your files, which is recommended.

New products coming out are very disappointing. Maybe not for Kaspersky but I am really down on others.

Going with a product that shuts it all down, VooDoo Shield, AppGuard or Sandboxie because in the end, a product like this always works. MSE as my real time protection and it is free.

But the paid AV products have issues and hopefully they get them straighten out.

Added Avast! again, I just felt kind of naked without an AV. As far as performance:

Boot time (from pressing power to login screen) without AV - 43 sec. With Avast! - 45 sec.

Login time (password entered to everything loaded) without AV - 9 sec. With Avast! - 7 sec.

So considering I counted in my head, I would say Avast! has next to no impact on my boot time.

Programs seem to load a bit slower, but Avast! probably just needs to build its cache, etc.

I would be very careful stating that programs that don't use signatures always perform as they should and block everything. I recall not too long ago Bluepoint, which has an antiexecutable part, performing poorly on MRG tests. Other programs are patched from time to time to plug holes. Programs that have only been out for a short period of time are more vulnerable to having security holes.
