I read this with great amusement, and have a simple solution to your predicament

If you agree not to post for the rest of December we can give you karma cookies for each day. Thereby, your ratio will correct itself gradually. And if you feel the change is insufficient we can do the same on January.

This, I feel, is an elegant and simple solution!
