The latest TeraByte Explorer script contains a Partition Manager component. It's GUI and easy to use online and offline. This makes for several partitioning tools in the TeraByte range. You can do partition work in...

    BIBM
TeraByte Explorer and TBOSDT in the Windows OS
TeraByte Explorer and TBOSDT in TBWinRE/PE
Partition Work, TeraByte Explorer and TBOSDT in IFL

TBOSDT partitioning is command line and scary until you understand what it's about.

I prefer the free AOMEI Partition Assistant - http://www.aomeitech.com/pa/standard.html - as it seems to be more fully featured than the other free partition tools mentioned here, including the capability for Partition Recovery! It's user-friendly and has done everything I've asked of it reliably. :thumb:

Traditionally, Partition Wizard has been powerful and reliable. I have used it several times without problems. The interface is simple and attractive.

But, in version 10.x there is not Linux boot medium available for the Free version. The new WinPE boot medium can only be created from the Pro version. So, the Free version is not very useful now for serious work. The program is now not really "free".

It depends on your usage. Nine times out of ten, I run partitioning software from within Windows.

I don't make recovery media with Partition wizard. I use it ONLY for partitioning purposes. I use Macrium Reflect, and AOMIE OneKey Free, to fabricate my recovery media. For windows 7, I ALSO use Windows 7 recovery system.

My Win7 systems each have three redundancies. Macrium, Aomei, and Win7 native imaging utility. Basically, I have three different images, for one computer. My backups are nearly 100% guaranteed. :)

I also keep the images on a 3TB external USB 3.0 drive, that is solely dedicated to images.

I have at any given time, two desktops, and between 10, and 15, or so, functioning laptops in my house. I've been doing this too many years to stress over recovery.

Although I don't like the last versions of Acronis True Image, for partitions management I like Acronis Disk Director 9.

Guess i'm the only one who likes Partition Guru. With only (2) HD Managers I ran into an issue, should been a simple correction really in extending a primary partition drawing from unallocated space, a lot of it, too much in fact. Done a dumb thing and deleted an old partition with Reflect before restoring Bare Metal and had to turn to Paragon which was always dependable for me years. It showed error so I fired up the only one left that I might have used once in Partition Guru and it not only stretched out the Primary bare metal restore image but finished the task in no time.

On reboot all was in proper working order. All I know is that it worked and it worked well to correct an end users mistake (me). Nice Work.
