No problem . Sorry you feel the way you do . LnS IS NOT an easy firewall for most novices compared to others . Period . I was a novice once too . Based on the info given , why should you need to down load a firewall that has nothing set to start with . It IS an extra step to install the enhanced ruleset . ZAP is easier . outpost is easier . I like LnS . Very good firewall . And if you believe that it is condescending to lean novices away from a rules based firewall . Great . I try to help these people . I do NOT feed them my opinion unless they ask . And , read some of my posts ! I rank LnS at the top !! It is that good . A fact is a fact . And the FACT remains that there is reason for a newbie to be called a newbie . And yes , I am being condescending now . Makes no difference whether you wish to start a war or not . Fact is fact . Opinion is opinion . You cannot seem to tell the difference .

I kind of agree with stephentony on this one Hollywood. I don't post here much (2 young kids, a wife, and work) because I just don't have the time. I'm tired right now! I do try to drop in once a week and see whats going on. I think you do speak down to others just a little bit. On the other hand I think you are trying to be helpful in your advice. I believe you can do the latter without doing the former. Just my 2 cents, not that you asked for it! lol :D

the problem the way I see it (who want to know?:)) lies in the question...allways a reason to start discussions and "wars".

what is the best this and what is the best that... your personal favour will not be better for me, nor will mine be better for you guys/girls.

that is why I TRY not to answer on posts starting with: "which...is better: this one or that one".

    cheers.

    Inf.

    Paco . Hi .
No no . I appreciate your thoughts . I will look for that from here on out . In my defense , may I say that mostly my supposed " talking down " may be because you are not seeing what I am answering ? I mean that most of the questions I get are for people that have said they are new to " this " . that is why I tell them what is best in their situation . I WAS in their shoes and have never forgotten . Anyway , thank you . I will pay closer attention . Oh . Who the heck do you think you are anyway ? NOOOOO . Only kidding . Take care and thank you again

I personally like ad-watch . Only an opinion . I must say though , I ran those two programs and never had a problem . pcIP worked well with SS . I removed SS because it was always wanting to modify EVERYTHING ! Ok . Not everything but , alot . I had to tell PG3 to let it and got tired of it . I have never seen a program do that . You want something free . As much as I dislike M$ , I must admit that they seem to have a good antispyware program . Only because they have yet to modify it too much . It is still Giant as far as I am concerned . I guess Spyware Blaster is ok . I have it on my system but , I do not know why . lol . It has never saved me from anything . Just me . do not know about others . Please see if you can figure out the problem with SS though . If you have the time , maybe write pcIP and tell them what you experienced . if you do , would you mind telling me ? I would like to know as well . As I said . I never had a problem between the two . Thank you very mmuch and I do hope that helps

Does anyone know if there are any Conflicks with PCIP and Webroot Spy Sweeper?

The alert messages you see when starting and closing WSS are caused by the technology WSS uses for process monitoring.
As WSS is a valid application you should choose "allow" for WSS and check the box "Remember my answer...".

    QUOTE
And does PCIP protect against spyware and addware or do you need Spyware programs??

"...pcInternet Patrol Application Control Suite is a powerful security and personal privacy tool that detects and prevents malware like trojans, spyware, adware, virus, injected code and other hacker tools. It complements your standard Windows Firewall...."

I got this info from the pcIp forum so
I did what he said and now there are no conflicks!!

Thanks for your Help and advertising and a look at a great product!!

    Cheers,
