    Adblock: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/gighmmpiobklfepjocnamgkkbiglidom?hl=en-US

    AdBlockPlus: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/cfhdojbkjhnklbpkdaibdccddilifddb?hl=en-US

AdBlock is the only one to make that claim per their respective pages.

I gave up on host files long ago. One, the update times just can't keep up, and two, trying to get a website to work because of a conflict with a host file entry is a lot more difficult than just shutting off the adblocker for that one website.

The two sites that give me a hassle are Pogo and Live365. Pogo gives me this weird "fbconnect library is missing (all.js)" error when I try to play, but otherwise with the adblocker off, it works fine. Now Live365 refuses to even load unless adblocking is turned off. Outside of those two places I don't really see issues with it either.

Well, I attribute that crazy javascript error to Pogos' sudden fascination with Facebook (why does Facebook have to be everywhere?). As for Live365, I just assume a lot of ad-driven websites are becoming more anal about the use of blockers. Understandable, though they need to realize adblockers are less about blocking ads themselves, and more about the malicious payloads that these days piggyback them. Fix that issue and people are less likely to block your ads.

Thankfully Google, which controls somewhere along the lines of 65% of ads is moving to remove all "annoying" ads. Google's own ads are already very tame and usually nothing more than plaintext. If all ads were that way I certainly would not block them.

I'm on the fence about that. Though Google's ads are the least irritating, I still have that deep seated distaste for tracking ads. And, by nature, that's what those would be. I would still be tempted to block those, what is it, "intellitext" ads? Those that whenever you hover over a word an ad pops up. Those still annoy me :D

Google's ads and Google's tracking are two separate areas though.

    Same here.
