I ran Ad-Aware and it found Alexa in my registry. What is it and is it safe to get rid of?

If the Adaware screen is showing something like this...

    [ ] K Alexa - \software\microsoft\internet explorer\extensions\{c95feo...

Then that is just a simple registry key that is loaded whenever you install, upgrade or repair Internet Explorer. It is not anything to worry about. It supports the Internet Explorer Tools menu item - 'Show Related Links'. You can leave it or remove it without issue.

Here's a site with more information on it: http://www.imilly.com/alexa.htm
