What Free Firewall do the experts use?

    What FREE Firewall do they experts use, and the guys "in the know" and who are security educated? Which Firewall do they prefer?

    COMODO? Or something else?

    Experts do not use free firewalls. It's just out or the rules for the Experts :)

    Hello,

    1. Define expert.
    2. Define the need (home / work / etc).

    All that said, experts use: a firewall with 0% crashes, 100% stability, EXCELLENT logging, full granularity, and ability to control every aspect of networking on layer 3 (+ hopefully some aspects of layer 2).

    The answer is:

    iptables (+ ebtables and arptables)

    Windows-wise: I'd go with Kerio, L'n'S, Sygate, Jetico ...
