    1) WinRar
    2) ZipGenius

I think I am going to get Powerarchiver for my notebook:D, because my wife said it's got a beautiful interface.

Any Izarc users with DEP in "AlwaysOn"?
It fails to open for me, the new version at least. Not usable.

Winrar has been around for ages, and once you buy a copy you get free upgrades for life. I bought my copy many many years ago, before 7zip came out, and when Winzip was popular which I never understood :)

An older version of WinRar. No compression but do uncompress often. Good program never any problems.

Also use StuffIt (for those MAC users that don't know how to compress anything)

IZarc works the best for me...7zip is ok also...I used ZipGenius for a while, but
    it had a few bugs.....

if i ever wanted to do some serious compression id probably use something
like Paq8o8, which is also free.....there's some webpage out there that lists
the heavy duty compression/decompression programs...i think theis is it:

    http://cs.fit.edu/~mmahoney/compression/

and then MaximumCompression.com has some interesting benchmarks here:

    http://www.maximumcompression.com/data/summary_mf.php

this page compares the compression %'s for many of the popular programs
like WinZip, WinRAR, 7Zip, StuffIt, etc..and many more that ive never heard
of....i think MaximumCompression.com has this subject covered quite well...

i dont think id ever pay for any comp/decomp software as i think all of the
    best stuff is free
