I have a notice in the process guard status field that says "error in intilialization. Check dcsuserprot.exe"....what does it mean? All of the protection settings are greyed out and won't accept a check mark.

It means that dcsuserprot.exe was not detected to be running and that you should check to make sure that it is. Whenever this occurs, a temporary fix is to stop the gui (procguard.exe) and the account prog (pgaccount.exe) and manually start the service (net start dcspgsrv), then pgaccount, then procguard (all reasonably quickly, or else you get the mutex 2 error) and pg should init just fine.

In any case, you should check the registry for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\DCSPGSRV and make sure the image path is pointing to the right filename and that start is 2.
