What do you think is the lighter firewall for xp?

Something similar to Sphinx Windows 7 firewall control is what i have in mind, but it must be for windows XP.

I know this is kind of impossible because Sphinx firewall uses Windows 7 internal firewall as engine, but i'd like something similar, that does not do anything else, just ask me when an application wants to connect to internet whether i want it or not, and if it needs to remember my answers for the subsequent connections from this application.

Most firewalls have useless features that i dont need and even worse mess up with network traffic, slow down the computer and whatnot.

Well after 30 plus posts of comment and advice, what have you decided to do meet your goal?

You didn't mention what Hardware firewall you are using? How does your setup(s) manage the content of the incoming packets? The Hardware FW may pass them through okay but how do you verify that you want them? They may decide to execute.
