Nobody used KAV and switched to F-Secure because:

1)KAV already provides excellent detection, the slight extra for them is not worth the extra resource use...
2)It is very resource hungry and also costly.

But those who purchased F-Secure are very happy with it.

ok then i'll stay with KAV antivirus pro.

one more question why doesn't KAV pay for other scan engines like other do?

Well that's a matter of respect and pride...getting another engine would mean working 'by', 'for', or 'under' somebody, which they don't want to do because if they do all new samples detected will have to be sent to the other engine as well according to engine license contracts..then the other product would become just as good as KAV itself, so KAV does not want another engine in its product.

    You never know. :)

How about Kaspersky with Norman's sandbox or NOD32 AH combo? ;)

Hmmm...Maybe I should license KAV’s engine and Norman's sandbox or NOD32 AH and put them together as one product.

    Unbeatable combo?

No, Kaspersky releases new version every 18 months, so you'll see version 6 in end of 2005 probably...

Pro takes longer for reasons unknown it can take up to three months longer.

I can almost garantee you that there will be no version 6 in april, it might go into beta in marts though (thats the latest i heard), they are usually in beta for 2-3 months, so i think may/june is the ealiest that you can hope for (sorry :) ).

But perhaps a 5.5 will be out in the meantime, to ease you pain. ;)

No need to cry though, Kav 5.0 will protect you just fine. :)

I believe most of the new features will be for Personal Pro and Workstation edition, though I have no proof to back it up...
