What are some good alternatives to Microsoft Windows Media Player?

    I still like winamp best for audio, Media Player Classic with Quicktime and Real alternative for video.

    Video = Media Player Classic with CCCP/real/quicktime codecs to play any video ever.

    K-Lite Mega Codec Pack contains BSPlayer, MPC and codecs for almost everything.
    AVS DVD Player is most likely the best freeware DVD player, but with high CPU usage.
    VideoLAN plays almost everything (except realtime) without need to have any codecs.
