Antivir PersonalEdition Classic with the annoying notifier turned off. I also use SSM free for outgoing protection and behavior protection.

I'm as well using the free version of Avast!. You get the same features and protection anyways. For the paid all you get is just advanced features for Exp. users.

It seems like there are lots of people who think you have to pay to get something good. Well it's their money.

No doubt, free AVs are good, but some paid AVs are better than the free ones IMO... theres only 4 AVs which I'l be willing to pay for, if they didnt exist, I would switch to the free ones instead of using other paid AVs.
Personal opinion, I think the additional security is worth paying for, but many rather stick with the free, up to them. The free ones are decent still

    Hi Dawgg,

I would also pay for better security, and use KAV6 on my desktop, but with the detection rates of Avira which are better than almost all paid AVs, I really do not see how I am getting additional security. I am not using a suite.

    Best,
    Jerry

My moms' insisting that I continue to use a paid version of Norton. I really don't find it that well in it's preformance.. there's a lot of viruses that I've taken down with basic DOS programs that norton couldnt remove.

(lets not turn this thread into another "which AV is the best" thread, but remember, its only the best in your opinion)... cant say which is the best or not, totally personal preffrence.

Comodo AV all the way! :thumb: It's still in Beta and a little quirky, but it's all free, full-featured anti-malware app. I've previously used McAfee, Norton, TrendMicro, AntiVir and AVG.
