The only thing I can see is for us Beta Testers that are using the Web Filtering Driver so they updated this page in the UI.

    Thanks,

    Daniel ;)

It does it over a few days, also if you don't want to wait just download the installer and install over top and reboot. And the Web Filter is still at 1.2.0.9

    Thanks,

    Daniel

Thanks! I'm waiting in hopes of internal updater working. I've reinstalled WSA Antivirus 3x's and still do not get All Programs > Tools > Uninstall nor Program Files WRSA.exe - uninstall.
So, I'm kinda using "internal updater" to tell me if WSA is installed okay and whether WSA is okay running with Norton.
I've observed page blocks so, Filtering Extension 1.2.0.9 is working.
Although, WSA is silent for eg: downloads and launch.
Maybe, WSA is stepping aside for Norton. IDK

Edit: Vista machine with same Norton... 'Check for updates' told me 9.0.3.37 available.
So, no WSA update on W8.1 machine = glitch.

Is there a setting in WSA to ask before deleting?

When you do a clean reinstall do you import old settings? If so don't the next time you try or Download and install over top and reboot: http://anywhere.webrootcloudav.com/zerol/wsainstall.exe when users are having issues I always tell them not to import as it keeps some info from the previous install that could be causing the problem. Can't go into details right now but maybe later.

Hi @Triple Helix I have been using WSA for a long time, and I like it. Two questions/suggestions!
    1. It frequently does FPs and I had to whitelist those. I rarely report those in their site, because then I need to open their site and upload the file in the appropriate webform, and I often lack the time to do so. Any chance to upload whitelisted files for analysis from the GUI in near future?
    2. It also does a lot of false detections on webpages that I need to ignore. Sometimes, I falsely ignore some genuine malicious sites. Can you tell me how I can remove sites from whitelist?

That still opens the webform in default browser. Then you have to browse for the whitelisted file, enter captcha etc. I am looking for a functionality like right-clicking on an entry in "PC Security>Block/Allow files" and select "Submit as False Positive".

Hi I have win 7 and a very slow computer. I've was using Ariva 2012 until the support ran out because it only used 15-18mgs. I care about security and web browsing speed. I purchased WSA from newegg for $5.00 after three freeware products just didn't cut it. I will only use a antivirus that uses 30mgs or less when I'm on the web. Higher will slow down my browsers speed. I didn't do my homework on WSA. And as I looked into it i found that almost everyone rates it low in protection. It's not good with malware i don't know if the guard is not strong enough or that it takes too much time for the cloud to decide that this is a threat. I've seen it on video and ait does not do very good testing malware. However It's been the best as far as no popups, no fps and only one blocked update that was no big deal. I have O. C. D. and can't stop thinking about the poor ratings and the videos that i saw. I need honest opinions on this antivirus and if you don't like it any ideas on other products to look for. Bitdefender and Avast are out. Also other than fake web sites or fake malware's no way to test it.While I love the program I can't stop thinking that something could get though. I didn't post on the 67 page discussion because i wasn't sure How many people look at it. I've looked at almost every antivirus out ther and it's hard to know how much resources they use. One more thing in the three years of using Ariva 2012 an older out of date antivirus I never once had the guard have to block anything so I do my best at keeping things up to date and keepin my web browsers secure.

WSA is in fact very good in protection and has highly advanced protection technologies. So, don't worry about its protection. It is also very much light on system resources.

Yeah. Heard the same about webroot's protection that's why didn't use it until now. Forget avast. Bloated and useless nowadays. Look into NOD32 and Qihoo360 TSE with WFC. My personal opinion. Do not trust a cloud antivirus 100%. I prefer something with offline as well. Well that is just me.

Let me share my experience with you. I have a friend who have a netbook with 1GB RAM and Qihoo360 TSE runs fine on it (only using BD engine. Scared to enable Avira),:D
Qihoo have build to program their be able to run on 12 years old hardware.

Worse come to worse, use bitdefender traffic light, K9 web protection and shadow defender.

@sly stone I've been using WSA since it came out. I don't believe in computer security tests or YouTube testers. I put my faith in only one test, My Wife (The Happy Clicker). She hasn't been infected yet using WSA and she will click on to almost anything. It's your decision what to put on your computer, but I know what I'm sticking with. :D

I like the product it's my O.C.D and the fact that almost everyone bashes it. Bit defender i won't touch. I want some control over my software and with Bitdefender it does what it wants. I would buy NOD32 but the tests show it's not much better in protection than webroot. Ok I have a question, because i bought WSA at newegg, can I use tech support? My thoughts were no but I've never bout a antivirus that wasn't from the vender. I'd love to have it just in case and thank you all for giving my your opinion. I'd like to keep WSA I'm the type of person that researches Items for ever and then buys what i feel is the best. There's so many people and sites that bash WSA It finally got to me. but it seems that alot of antiviruses have people pulling their hair out and WSA isn't one of them.

I've been on Prevx since 2006 then on WSA since 2012 after Webroot acquired Prevx in 2010 (WSA is basically Prevx technology integrated into Webroot and made better). Before changing to Prevx/WSA, I used a couple of very reputable names in AVs boasting good to superlative reviews and...I regularly found myself getting infected (about every three to six months). Since changing to Prevx/WSA, I haven't been infected once.

That's my test, and I frankly don't give a damn what the reviewers say (excuse my language :gack:).

I believe access to support is based on the license and not on where you bought the software.

One reason I switched to WSA is the low impact on the system, especially the boot time. I wouldn't trust any AV to protect the system exclusively. I use WSA along with MalwareBytes AM and HitmanPro.Alert.

Well you can try out webroot and see if you are satisfied. Always keep an on demand scanner by your side to see if it misses something. I am saying Qihoo uses BD & Avira engine. It let you control what to do (you can set it to ask questions upon detection) or let it quarantine the file for you automatically. Just give 360 TSE not the TS a spin. WHo knows you might like it.

Did you check malwaretips where those people test various AV against all kind of malwarepacks? I see ESET and Qihoo360 top the list of vendors. Sad to say Webroot is usually at the bottom. But then again, they don't run the samples.

For me, I go with the the following Qihoo360 TSE + Comodo FW (autosandbox on and HIPS off). Liking it. Is light.

Firstly contacting support is the best and fastest!

Now you can upload files via the UI and it opens a web page and it's best to get URL's changed here: http://www.brightcloud.com/tools/change-request-url-reputation.php

    Thanks,

    Daniel :)

    1. I knew that way of submitting file. I just suggested an alternative easier method. Often the detected file remains deep in Windows system directory and to send a file by browsing requires knowledge about the exact location of the file, which makes the process quite tedious... Anyway, its just a suggestion.
    2. The next answer is not of my question. You informed me about getting sites whitelisted sites from Webroot database. But I was asking how I can manage whitelisted websites from the software GUI, because I have wrongly allowed some malicious sites.

@sly stone newegg is a genuine deals site. As long as your key is legit, you will get support. Just try their support.
