I just now received an email from them indicating they refunded my credit card. Thanks again Triple Helix.

    Updated

    • UI logo and branding to include OpenText.
    • Text on Backup screen.

    • Additional fix for issue where Chrome does not load with the Identity Shield enabled.
    • Bug Fixes.
    • This is the final build provided for Vista systems. Vista systems will not be updated to any later versions.

Worst customer service I have ever experienced and that is saying something. I too had difficulty getting a refund- but I did.

And with the exception of PC Magazine's constant praise, no other tests (the few that there are) have shown it to be up to par with the others.

That's sad. Webroot use to have the best customer support of anyone I had ever used. So much has changed over the years. Apparently they were taken over by bad management after they were acquired by Carbonite.

They (Carbonite & Webroot) were acquired by OpenText, so Webroot was acquired twice within a year. :(

I've never heard of OpenText. I know their support started slipping down hill fast after they were acquired by Carbonite. I guess it got even worse after they were acquired again by OpenText. So many great companies have been destroyed by acquisitions!

Support got bad when COVID hit and most of the Webroot Staff are still working from home but I agree support is not the same and I don't know why?

They do when I need Whitelisted Files but I don't contact support for any other reason because I still use the Beta and get support from Brad West directly: https://community.webroot.com/members/bradw-132

Basically I am very disappointed with the support, I will not continue beta testing until I get a reply.

Right the issue with Adguard and the newer versions of WSA. I think the new Core files (Foreign Code Shield) might be the issue? Send Brad a PM!

Thank you for being helpful , but need not do it please.

Since they don't bother, why should I care?

I could not get them to get the backup function to work because they said I had three user accounts under my name. I suggested they delete the two old ones but that was above their pay grade. I sent 13 emails and they just sent back an automated response that they could not help me. That is 100% nonsense and this was 7 months before Covid. So they were in retreat long before the virus.

Does identity shield not automatically detect chromium browsers anymore? I had to manually add both brave and chrome.

Webroot is only one that scans whole system after it finds and removing a malware. Why in earth it scans whole system again? Which takes 45min on my old laptop. Sure i can stop the second scanning procedure.
I can understand if it scan "critical areas" but no.
I do like the software and when properly configured, it's actually quite good.

I don't have any issues with Chrome I add unsupported browsers and other web facing apps and I keep asking to add support for Microsoft Edge which I add manually every time it updates.

    Supported Browsers:

    Internet Explorer
    Firefox
    Chrome

I've had to manually add chrome twice now. After the first time I added it, the entry in Application Protection disappeared.

I will check the next time Chrome updates and if I see any issues with the ID Shield I will report it. That's all I can say for now.

Thanks. I have to add it to ID shield after every reboot for some reason.

Lol, Webroot monitoring it's own processes. WRSkyClient.x86.exe, WRSvcHost.x86.exe and WRCoreService.x86.exe are all set to Monitor..
    Latest version v9.0.31.84
EDIT: And files date is May 14th, so those specific versions have been on my PC for 6 months already and still monitored.

Mebbe its monitor of its own services because of tampering protection :D
Anyway, WR is getting better what it was one year ago. For some reason, on my testing laptop, my boot time went +10 sec higher with WR installed. Maybe because of some kind of boot time filesystem check?
When properly configured, WR is actually pretty good product.

They shouldn't be monitored so maybe a clean reinstall would help.

    Please follow the steps closely!

    • Make sure you have a copy of your 20 Character Alphanumeric Keycode! Example: SA69-AAAA-A783-DE78-XXXX
    • Be sure you add your Keycode to your Online Console: Webroot SecureAnywhere Online Console
    • KEEP the computer online for Uninstall and Reinstall to make sure it works correctly
    • Download a Copy Here (Best Buy Geek Squad Subscription PC users click HERE)
    • Uninstall WSA and Reboot
    • Go into Safe Mode and Delete these Folders if they are there!
    • C:\Program Files\Webroot Folder
    • C:\ProgramData\WRData Folder (Hidden Folder)
    • C:\ProgramData\WRCore Folder (Hidden Folder)
    • Boot back into normal mode
    • Install with the new installer, enter your Keycode
    • Let it finish it's install scan
    • Reboot once again
    • DO NOT import any old settings as you can set it up as you like once it's done
