I guess it`s to late for me to do that, as the latest update seems to include this new added reg-key

This also happened to me except with Windows 10. I had to reinstall my OS because I couldn't get Windows back even in Advanced boot up screen. It would only boot up to a plain black screen. I did reinstall Webroot after instalingl Windows because I didn't think it was all related until troubleshooting in my head and help from a friend @Triple Helix when conversing over all of this when this was happening..while doing a clean reinstall. All is great now.

I have reported it to the Webroot Beta Group. - Thank you Triple Helix

I have opened a ticket about the issue with the support team, and hopefully they have some advice.

Thanks for the info. I didn't know that was an option, but since I haven't received the update yet (on Windows 7), I unchecked it too & will monitor this thread.

I should have unchecked it days sooner, but thought it could do no harm so i let it go until another wsa user had a big problem after the new update. I don't plan on installing the ms update anyway, so i don't really need the reg key.

Well as for me, the short story is, that for now I am back to the 9.0.19.44 build wich the support team kindly has provided me, until they find the cause and the solution to this boot issue.

v9.0.19.43 is supposed to fix that issue and I assume they gave you v9.0.18.44?

I have v44 for a long time now with auto update checked off so i don't get the reg key. Do i have to install 43 or another earlier version first so that i don't get the logon blackscreen issues and then install that latest version with the reg key.

If your on the Beta Channel and have v9.0.18.44 installed it will skip v9.0.19.36 and go to v9.0.19.43 but it will set the reg key so you will be offered the Meltdown/Spectre patch from Microsoft.

Keyloggers scare me......What about two cloud based solutions together like Webroot and Zemana?....Or just Webroot alone?

I just downloaded WSA v9.0.19.43 from the production download location. Obviously it was just released to production.

Just to let everyone know I will not be supporting Webroot anymore and I also quit the Webroot Community as it's gone down hill, I don't have any issues with the software and will continue to use it so you can continue to talk about WSA in here but please don't Ping me for help with WSA and if you need help just submit a support ticket!

Thanks and it's been a Pleasure since the Prevx days with Joe (2009) till now!

    Cheers,

    Daniel ;)
