    @sg09

I suppose it's a matter of opinion but I beg to disagree with you on this one.

Webroot's mission is to detect and zap malware that executes or that is likely to execute, and I believe it does an extremely good job at this. It does not consider it necessary to dig out malware files hidden away in archive folders, for example, and that are highly unlikely to ever become an active threat to your system (but it will, as you suggest above, zap them if and the moment they do). It considers this a waste of computer resources and the user's time.

I agree with this approach. Wholeheartedly. To my mind, full scans only defeat the object of Webroot, making it slow and clunky like traditional AVs. But then everyone to their own ;)

Nevertheless nice to hear you like Webroot despite this :)

Actually, I suppose my thinking was probably not so different from yours until I got to know how Webroot worked.

Okay the Default Scan is a Deep Scan not a Full scan and you can control your scans here: http://live.webrootanywhere.com/content/838/Creating-Custom-Scans I have mine set this way for daily Deep Scans at and exact time and I see the scan at 1:00PM every day on the dot! Also no need for full scans as if anything tries to execute it will be detected by the realtime shield!

    Thanks @Triple Helix

    I have a question.
This time I installed WSA in a newly formatted PC. To ensure maximum protection initially I set the Heuristic settings to "Warn when any new program executes ..." and Firewall settings to "Warn if any process connects... unless explicitly allowed". However, I started getting too many Firewall Prompts (mainly from M$ applications), and so changed the Firewall settings to "Warn if any new, untrusted process connects..".
Will the Firewall now create a allow-rule for each trusted M$ application connection attempts (learn-mode)? I am asking this because if I change anytime in future Firewall settings to "Warn if any process connects... unless explicitly allowed", will I be getting the these alerts (the one already allowed in this period) again !!

I'm still not sure if this setting has been fixed: Firewall settings to "Warn if any process connects... unless explicitly allowed" but I leave mine at default and it's very secure.

And this to see all pop-ups that are important!

Thank you TH. Ok, I will contact the support regarding this... & thank you for suggesting the Shields settings. I always had the default one enabled. :)

I apologize if someone sent this in a previous reply, I'm just wondering why this product did so bad in the test?

    Dear Triple H
In your first screenshot in post #3317, it shows an option to check or uncheck Enable Web Filtering Driver.
I have WSAComplete v.9.0.17.28 on Win 7 64bit but dont see this option at all .
How can we get this option box to appear ?

If its still BETA for consumer versions, then is it already available in Business version of WSA ?
Is it possible to buy 1-5 user WSA Business version ?

    Thanks
    Ska

I am rather interested to learn about its results in an official test: MRG Effitas 360 Assessment & Certification Programme Q2 2017

Found it out myself. The firewall indeed creates a allow-rule for each trusted application connection attempts.

Support didn't answer my exact question. Regardless of that I found their answer useful.

Just another YouTube tester so there nothing more to say and will not argue it's merits.

Right so the YouTube tester doesn't check the whole program. YouTube tests are useless.

I know that the Web Filter Driver is active on Windows 10 for all users but will ask when they will activate for all OS's or if they are going to.

For the Business version most of the settings and controls are on the main online console and a minimum is 5 endpoints and it's a bit more expensive. https://www.webroot.com/us/en/business/smb/endpoint-protection#howtobuy

At 16:47, when the YouTube Tester "comes back", he seems in the meantime to have closed down the Webroot Scan Window (watch carefully the taskbar) in order to load Zemana and HitmanPro. Pretty dumb thing to do if that is what he actually did, because when Webroot discovers an active infection, it starts a scan to clean things up—which is an absolutely key stage of its disinfection process. So not surprising that he ended up getting seriously infected if he really was dumb enough to close down that window :(. Classic example of someone YouTube testing a product they haven't yet understood.

Also, not a good idea to keep on manually piling on new infections from his malware folder while the Webroot cleanup scan window is functioning. To my mind, this is an unreal environment, and neatly explains why mileage from us real Webroot users varies considerably from the YouTube tests I've seen.

I think you've missed @sg09's point, TH, if you will allow me to say so. He's not referring to the YouTube test but to his previous query about Advanced Settings.

I was told by Webroot that the MRG Test has been corrected and because they didn't have WSA setup properly for testing they removed WSA from the testing report! https://www.mrg-effitas.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/MRG-Effitas-360-Assessment_2017_Q2_v2.pdf

    Hi

Did WRSA pick up the ccleaner malware?

    Thanks.
