I'll leave alone...I don't think it is harmful in the context of my [unique] set up and use.

I entered my beta key when I ran the setup installer. So, I have v9.0.13.50...However, I don't seem to have v9.0.13.51 beta available, because when I do check via the tray icon, it says I have the latest version. I thought since have have registered the key, it would update to the current beta. Perhaps, not!

You need the Beta Installer as well from the Beta group over at the Community!

Oh, I couldn't find it readily, and that is why I went with the usual download that is available to the public. Not to worry! :)

So far I really like the performance of WSA on my older, low-RAM Win 7 laptop. However, checking for updates (with recently installed v9.0.12.52) shows that no new updates are available, despite the new version being out for a few days now. Is this normal?

Checking for updates always displays that message. Yours should automatically update to 9.0.13.50 a day or so after release which was last Tuesday. It may be that as you are a recent installation, you will be one of the last to be updated.

Thanks for the info. I ran the updater, but after a reboot the version number was unchanged. However, it did fix a GUI bug wherein Windows previously incorrectly stated that UAC was off.

Does it make a difference that I got WSA from my bank (free license for its customers) as opposed to having purchased it in the conventional manner?

I believe that the free banking version is a slimmed down version of the full Webroot AV. It concentrates on Identity Protection and possibly includes the Phishing Shield but I believe that it excludes some of the other PC security modules. For this reason it probably updates later than the full WSA version.

Correct and they have there own installer which I assume hasn't been updated at this time. May I ask which bank so I can ask Webroot?

    TIA,

    Daniel

    It's probably Ally bank.

Yep, it's Ally Bank. As of last night, their installer was still at 9.0.12.52. I didn't realize that the bank version is different from the regular product. The bank version appears to be full featured, with everything except backup/sync and password manager (which I don't use anyway).

When I previously ran the updater linked here, the version number in add/remove programs displayed as 9.0.13.50, though the application still reported itself as 9.0.12.52. To ensure that it hadn't become corrupted, I uninstalled it and clean reinstalled the original app from the bank (with a reboot in between). All seems fine, and interestingly, the UAC bug did not return.

Thanks again, guys, for the information.
