Where am I getting and why am I going. How will I know when I've arrived.
So, web-facing is default Protect and not web-facing is Allow / Deny ...?

You have to add them it's not by default! Also uncommon Browsers you have to add like I use Cyberfox x64 and I have to add manually! Even Edge for now you have to add manually! I the only app I Deny is the third party Side Bar app as in the past was a security risk so it can't see any personal data. Deny. “Denied applications” cannot view or capture protected data on the system, but can otherwise run normally.

Yeah, Add Application is understood. It's Protect vs Deny that's head scratch. I'd like to Deny Firefox access to personal data. I don't want to Protect Firefox from personal data stealing malware. I want to Deny Firefox the ability to view or capture protected data on my system. And you write > Deny = Firefox will not be able to: Deny. I can Protect Firefox but, I cannot Deny Firefox.

Right Click on an Entry and "Remove this entry" and fill out the CAPTCHA if you have it set to show.

Always Max but it could cause FP's but default is recommended, so you can use Max and if you have issues go back to default! Contact Support to make sure all your files are Whitelised for Paranoid Mode! Webroot Customer Service

    Thanks,

    Daniel :)

I was hopeing no-one was going to ask that question....! LOL There was supposed to be a Whitepaper on it when it come out with the 2014 product but since then they don't want to publish it as they don't want the malware writers to understand how it works so they can work around Infrared and have not heard or seen anything on it and that's when Joe was still working for Webroot Full-time and yes Joe still works for them on a Part-time basis which continues to be good news. :)

    Thanks,

    Daniel

@Antarctica EDIT: I found this info in the Business section. And the reason with so many program updates with the Scan Engine improvements being listed. Another Interesting link and look who else uses the Webroot BrightCloud network: http://www.webroot.com/us/en/business/threat-intelligence

    ENDPOINT PROTECTION

    KEY SECURITY FEATURES

    INFRARED

Infrared is a multi-layer defense incorporating several aspects of the
WIN to help thwart threats early on in their lifecycle – often before a
threat researcher sees a single sample. It looks at the reputation of the
websites an individual visits and uses WIN to determine their risk level.
If the user commonly visits low-reputation websites, then the endpoint
goes into a state of heightened awareness and closely interrogates any
new files or processes that are introduced into their system. Infrared also
interprets user behaviors and the overall safety level of the user. So, if a
user is classified as “high risk”, Webroot then dynamically tunes malware
prevention to that user, while preventing false positives for less risky users.

FWIW ~ don't like that the Lock goes away when I ....e.g., 'Show the desktop' or click Taskbar or minimize webpage. Kinda' suggests Lock is Off even though webpage is active albeit not foreground.

Listen! I'm not the Complaints Department just a Webroot Expert Product Advisor and I'm doing this as a Volunteer so if you don't like something tell Webroot via the Webroot Community or Support Ticket as it goes on deaf ears when you tell me. And I have no issues as I know when Browsing and doing Banking or Purchasing I keep the Browser in the Foreground so I'm fully protected, now even if infected with an Unknown Banker trojan you are still protected from these Shields!

Thank you I love helping users of WSA and will continue to do so as it's lots of fun and I have many internal Webroot Contacts as I'm under NDA to Webroot so i have to watch what i have to say in future features there working on and all times I have to ask permission before i can post any new details. But I still like it and they are a great Security Company to be associated with. :)
Most times when someone posts in here it's for me to make a reply so if it's not for me then just make a general comment then I will not reply! Also there is a history of you doing the same at the Webroot Community and i try my best. :)

If someone becomes a PITA then I will just contact one of the Mods or flag a post to report. I'm a Mod at the Webroot Community... so what's wrong with being a Mod? Also not all High end VIPs are Mods just us Expert Product Advisors and that's 5 of us. I'm an Admin and 1/3 rd owner at the Calendar of Updates.

Here I'm an Official Webroot Expert Product Advisor since the old Prevx Forums Closed which I had Mod abilities in that Forum only: https://www.wilderssecurity.com/categories/archive-of-prevx-support-forum.104/ Just in case you didn't know WSA is built off of Prevx in Which Webroot acquired in Nov 2010: http://www.webroot.com/us/en/company/press-room/releases/technology-acquisition-cloud-security just after they acquired BrightCloud in July 2010: http://www.webroot.com/us/en/company/press-room/releases/acquisition-url-filtering-saas so it's one big happy family! http://www.webroot.com/us/en/business/threat-intelligence

    Thanks,

    Daniel ;)
