Triple Helix, I just received the WSA Complete disk from Newegg. How should I handle the transition from WSA Essentials that I'm using now, with 132 days left on the subscription.

Another question: I see that there's a "Behavior Shield" in WSA-E, is that duplicating what Mamutu does? Should I turn one or the other off, or can I run both at the same time without any interference?

i thought essentials went to plus not complete. if that is the case why not just use your version OR update to plus (again if im correct) then you can always add your lic key and the program will automatically upgrade itself to complete.

i just picked up 4 2011 complete 3pc versions really cheap as leftovers from a store we have here locally. much cheaper than even newegg so ill use the plus' i have now and then use those down the line.

About some of the earlier back and forth in this thread about WSA, I think I was arguing for no reason. Yeah I know, shocking that I'd do such a thing, just not like me.:p

After some thinking, I'm blaming it on Sandboxie. It just doesn't matter that much if some of my other security software isn't totally blastproof. The way I look at it is if you start multiplying by even 50% effective, after a few security layers the chance of missing an intrusion is getting vanishingly small. (But then at the worst WSA scores 90% on the tests, and as said, probably closer to 98.5%.) So now my criteria is weighted more towards fast and unintrusive instead of how powerful the protection is. In a recent test WSA scored a 1 on system impact when the average for AV's is a 10. A score like that is going to get my attention, along with everything else that WSA does right.

But that's how I look at it, others have a different perspective on what's important to them, which I'll try not to argue about in the future.

Webroot has changed Essentials to Plus? Does that mean I need to do something to upgrade to Plus?

I can't just turn Essentials into Complete can I? If I entered my Complete key now wouldn't it be like dropping the remaining time of 132 days on Essentials and starting my year of Complete now?

Are you currently using WSA and sandboxie? If so what browser are you using? I'm curious because I would totally get a license for the AV is I could figure out why it's not working for me. Drop me a PM if you could. Thanks!

Have a look at this Official post: http://community.webroot.com/t5/Webroot-SecureAnywhere-Internet/Version-Confusion/m-p/11510#M742 and as far as I know but not sure the upgrade from Essentials 2012 to Complete 2013 in this case still has not taken place as JimM posted I think they are still waiting to get the Back Up & Sync upgraded to 25GB and will only be available in the Complete version. Maybe Joe can shed more light on this? And I have replied to your PM. ;)

No Back Up & Sync in the WSA-ISP 2013 and also it does say Tools but does not have System Cleaner & System Analyzer that's in the new Complete 2013.

Yes Complete to Complete. And it's best (but not necessary) to contact support to get the keys converted to WSA keys if you notice the 2011 product is all letters and WSA 2012 & 2013 is letters and numbers and again even after conversion they will not count down until activated. I did that one time and feel it's better to get them converted IMO.

You can also uninstall WSA and install it fresh with an old license (2011 product) and it will automatically convert the license to the new format for you :)

Using Chrome without any problems. You could try turning off all security other than WSA and Sandboxie and see if Chrome works then.

Thanks Triple Helix, and thanks for the PM.:thumb:

side question: is there a way to change the title of this thread to "WSA sales" since it seems to have continued that way?

Yes you are right, the Prevx forum is a better place for a sales thread.

The $19.99 deal is gone - back up to $65.00. However, as mentioned upthread, Newegg has a "special price" of $45 with a $45 rebate that makes it free....if you want to risk a rebate. I personally hate rebates, but it's quite a deal. Impressive piece of software, imo.

I called Webroot customer support today, and was told that they are upgrading Essentials customers to Complete. The person I talked to knew what he was doing and was fast, quickly got my old Essentials subscription changed to Complete and then added my new 1 year Complete subscription. Gave me a few extra days too. Good first experience with customer support.:thumb:

That's what I was told today by Webroot support, zfactor. It's because Essentials has something that Internet Security doesn't and Complete does (forget what exactly). Pretty nice of them. Not sure about 2011 though.

It's because they removed Back Up & Sync in WSA-ISP and it was in Essentials so the reason for the upgrade to Complete and the Back Up is up to 25GB from 10GB.
