When is WWDC 2020?
Apple is kicking off WWDC 2020 with a special event keynote on Monday, June 22 at 10am PT/1pm ET.
What to expect at WWDC 2020
Apple's WWDC keynote is typically when Apple reveals the latest updates to iOS, iPadOS, macOS, TVOS, and WatchOS. The company has also used this time in the past to announce new services and new hardware.

This year, there are rumors Apple will announce its plans to release ARM-powered Macs and transition away from Intel processors. The announcement is expected to happen now, giving developers time to rework applications.
Apple is also revamping its developer forums, which will debut on June 18.

Apple turns the iPhone into the key for your car

Today at Apple’s annual developer’s conference — held virtually because of COVID — the company announced the ability to control a car with an iPhone. With an upcoming software update, the iPhone can soon unlock and start a car like a standard key. If your car supports it, that is.
Details at still slim at the moment.

Initially, only the upcoming BMW 5 Series will support this feature. Apple expects other manufacturers to support it in the future, too.
Security is paramount. Apple says the so-called digital key will live in the secure environment on the owner’s iPhone. It’s not stored in the cloud, but locally on the iPhone. This is the same secure enclave that store’s the owner’s FaceID and Wallet information.

Apple said that the company is working with car makers to integrate the iPhone’s U1 ultra-wideband chip into this system. If implemented, the range would be greatly increased.

Apple will announce new versions of its software for iPhones, iPads, Macs, and Apple Watches at its annual software developers event on Monday

iOS 14
The latest version of the iPhone operating system includes a big change to the iOS home screen, including the ability to set default email and browser apps for the first time.
Apple has also introduced a widget that uses artificial intelligence to predict which data the user wants to see.
Translate app
Apple has also introduced a new translation app, called Translate, that enables real-time translation between two different languages.
iPad OS 14
Many Apple-developed iPad apps, including Photos, Music and Notes, have gotten iPad user interface updates with side bars and tool bars, Apple said on Monday.

AirPods
Apple said that its wireless earbuds, AirPods, will now automatically switch from your iPhone to your computer when needed.
AirPods Pro will also support virtual surround sound, like at a movie theater, by measuring whether your head or device is moving.
Apple Watch
The latest version of the Apple Watch software can track user sleep patterns using a machine learning model that senses motion at night. It includes a feature to nudge users to go to bed and new alarm features to gently wake users up.
Apple HomeKit and Apple TV
