Anything will be an improvement over the "dead heads" they now have that restock. Any robot will do a better job than those folks. Question is if the robots will check for smashed boxes and dented cans and not stock those? Probably not since I am convinced that Walmart buys damaged freight goods from the carriers and then resells them.
An interesting article, Ron. I also wonder whatever happened with those computerized, perpetual inventory control system(s) most large businesses like Walmart use (via purchases made at the check-out counters) - that are supposed to alert them when their stock is running low?
Hitting a robot ?? No way. Robots have rights !! "Saudi Arabia bestows citizenship on a robot named Sophia..." http://www.slate.com/blogs/future_t...tizenship_to_humanoid_robot_named_sophia.html
Yeah don't buy them, a dent can cause a tiny hole and let bacteria in, that's how botulism gets into canned food.
I actually work at walmart and my store needs a robot because most stockers doesn't care enough to put items where they go or the correct amount. Thanks for sharing
